Pick up my new 908 tomorrow, My first S&W!:D I've been researching SD ammo and decided it's best to ask those who know. Is there a certain brand or weight that works best in your 908, shoots closest to POA? Thanks.

I just use regular old standard velocity Winchester 115 gr. Silver-tips in mine, and they work just fine and shoot point of aim. As you probably know, though, every gun is different and what works well in one may not be so good in another. You may have to experiment to see what works best in yours.

And congrats on the 908 - one of the best autos S&W ever made!

Your gonna love your 908. Mine will feed anything as most 3rd generation Smiths will. My carry load is Winchester Ranger 124 Grain Bonded JHP +P. Shoots to POA and is plenty accurate.

Thanks for the replies, just picked it up yesterday. Haven't been to the range yet, too busy "finger fiddlin" it!:D Field stripping was easy, except figuring out the proper way to hold it while removing the slide lock.:o I'm already in love with. Thinking about some Houge grips, and need to get an extra mag with a tad more finger extension. It came with the case, owners manual and the warranty card that the first owner never filled out. If I fill it out and mail it in ya think S&W would honor it?;) Thanks again to all on this forum for your help in this difficult choice. Because of all your advice I feel I made a wise purchase.

I think Buds was selling these new just a few weeks ago. I bet they would honor the warranty.

908

Hey...that looks like my 908! You're gonna like it. I conceal carry mine lots.

I've shot Slovokian 124 grain FMJ's, Federal Classic 9BP 115 grain JHP's, Remington Golden Sabre 124 grain 124 grain +P JHP's, and some stout Corbon 147 grain +P JHP's.

I recently put Trijicon night sights and Hogue grips on it...like it even better.

Here it is before changing grips and sights.

My feeds anything, low recoil, no problems. Good Luck!

Great choice. I love mine and it eats anything I feed it. I have more than a few 3RD generation S&Ws and I love them all, but the 908 is one I keep loaded and handy.

Mine likes Federal HST, Winchester Ranger, Remington Golden Sabers, and Speer Gold Dots all in 124gr.

For practice, the 115gr WWB works real well.

The 908 is a superb compact. Enjoy!

Haven't really carried the one I got about 4-5 months ago but it spent a couple of those months at S&W. Had em inspect the gun, refinish the frame (I rounded out a couple edges around the trigger guard and the front of the grip frame), replace the plastic magazine catch and recoil spring guide rod. Also had em add an ambidexterous safety and a spurred hammer. Once I got it back I stipled the rear of the plastic grips and ordered me a High-Noon brand Bare-Asset holster. Turned out to be a pretty nice gun if you ask me :-)
