Can anyone id what type of wood these KB grips are?

...they weren't on a 627 but a 629 v-comp pictured below. Part of an estate collection of a late member of this forum. Mike (Shootist) was pretty much house bound his last couple of years. His gun collection and this forum were both something he enjoyed. Literally made his last post here the night he passed.

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Always sad to lose a member of the S&W collecting community.:(:(

On a positive note, those grips and that gun are beautiful!

Richard, here you go. Sorry, they weren't on a 627 but a 629 v-comp pictured below. Part of an estate collection of a late member of this forum. Mike (Shotist) was pretty much house bound his last couple of years. His gun collection and this forum were both something he enjoyed. Literally made his last post here the night he passed.
Thanks everyone for their help.
That's a beauty. Glad it went to someone that appreciates fine firearms.

I had never seen wedding bands before. Not sure if that is actual name for bands around cylinder or not, but saw them referred to that when I started looking into them.
