Does anyone recognize the type of wood these N frame Keith Brown's are made out of? Not one I'm familiar with. It looks kinda like two or three types of exotics but nothing stands out.

They may be high quality Goncalo Alves.

KB is a Forum member and frequent visitor so he may tell you exactly himself. :)

I checked the Hogue exotics and a few other sites before posting but didn't come to any definite conclusions. Goncalo Alve and Zebrawood are two of the possibles I picked but still not sure as I am not familar with them. Pretty sure they are not french walnut or cocobolo, as I have other grips in those two woods that I compared them to side by side. There was a third possible type that looked similar but can't remember it now. Thanks everyone for commenting.

If the colors in the pics are accurately represented, the orange makes me lean toward cocobolo. The zebra wood and GA grips I've seen are more blonde.

Those are beautiful. Now that Keith confirmed the wood, we would love to see some photos of them mounted on one of your guns... (preferably a 2" 627) :D please?

Keith Brown, thank you for confirming wood. Got to admit, never would have guessed french walnut. Don't know if Mike bought grips from you or if they came on gun. Unfortunately, he didn't keep a lot of paperwork on his collection.

Richard, here you go. Sorry, they weren't on a 627 but a 629 v-comp pictured below. Part of an estate collection of a late member of this forum. Mike (Shotist) was pretty much house bound his last couple of years. His gun collection and this forum were both something he enjoyed. Literally made his last post here the night he passed.

Thanks everyone for their help.

Thanks. Probably not clear from picture but it's a Magnaport custom and appears to have seen little if any use. Heirs are not collectors, so I'm selling off the collection for them. Will probably separate V-comp and KB's since have two other sets of grips for it and did not sell as a set in recent GB listing.
