Can you identify this part of a Bodyguard 380?

Hi everyone, I have terrible luck with buying guns!

I guess I should buy them new, because I can't seem to catch a break. This time I purchased a used Bodyguard 380 (early but with a EAA serial number) and when I pushed the mag release the bit of metal in the photograph popped off. I had previously been working the slide and dry-firing, so I'm wondering if it may be part of the pin assembly. Anyone able to identify it? Since the previous owner registered the warranty I am not sure how easy it will be to get a warranty repair.

Question: When you put things back together does the gun work when dry fired?

It's really hard to say seeing such a small picture and piece, but it almost looks a little like a piece of the hammer. I think you should be very careful with it until you have had it thoroughly checked over.

Whatever it is, I don't think I'd want it falling out of my Bodyguard. :(

Well, I can't notice a difference in feel- the hammer rises and falls when the trigger is pulled.

Hammer looks the same to me, but who knows. I was hoping this was a 'commonish' problem and someone would recognize it but it looks like I'll just have to have it looked at by someone or see what it would cost to send it back.

Update: I think it is something in the firing assembly because there is no indent on a dummy case when the trigger is pulled.
