Canceled the P365 order. I'll stick with the Shield

Speaking about staking your life on a mechanical device...Funny thing is my 642 just goes bang when I pull the trigger...every time...no jams, no click rack click rack.... it just goes bang 5 times all I need to do is point in the right direction.

My Shield v2.0 #11810 came with three mags (two 8, one 7) and factory night sights (that work) for $415.

The original "Siglites" were made by Meprolight, who make high quality night sights.

I’m over 3000 rounds and everything still working perfect. I love my shield too but 365 does what other guns can’t.

I bought my 365 towards the end of the of February, it was 20 days old. Before I paid for it, I popped the fire control unit out and made sure the trigger bar spring had the correct length ears. Took it home and cleaned + lubed, then got a machined striker for it (what the hell I have the funds).
Took it to the range, and put 650 rounds through it without cleaning it.
I don't know if it was the tool steel striker, but I had zero striker drag.
Zero malfunctions, as well.
I tried to be patient til all the bugs were worked out, and I'm glad I waited.
I'm really happy with it.

Until it breaks a trigger stud . . .I love J Frames but they are machines and will fail.

I have a Gen1 Shield 9 and love everything about it except the trigger, which took a lot of trial and error with different OEM and Apex parts to sort out the stock front sight jerking trigger brake. I also own a Sept born 365 and absolutely love it, the trigger is the best striker fired I've felt, sights are very nice, shoots like it's a bigger gun and I can't miss with it. I bought a 320C after trying a friends out at the range, it to shot like a dream. All this Sig bashing is out of hand, the issues with the 365 have been corrected and if your not trying one out your missing a whole lot.

Let em bash.😉
I do plenty of due diligence before making a decision on a firearm, and use money that I earned. Also, I'm 57 not 15, so there is absolutely no concern about what someone thinks about what I have on my hip.

P365 seems to work just fine for me...approx 10ft, fast as I could get sights back on target. 12 round mags of Sig P365 FMJ 115g outer four, with last two top center, followed by 10 rounds of Sig P365 115g JHP center and head.

What’s not to like? Oh, I’m at about 1200 flawless rounds of 5-6 different brands of ammo.

I had a P365 but didn't love it like I thought I might. The grip is too vertical (typical of SIG) and even with small hands, it felt small to me. I'm someone that likes a manual safety as well. I was't concerned about reliability, that got ironed out over the summer and fall last year. My Shields feel perfect to me, I shoot them well.
When a friend wanted it, it was sold.

I recently purchased a P365 for carry. I shoot the P365 fine and hand placement was tricky at first and as of yet I have had no issues. The P365 in a Crossbreed Freedom Carry or Mini Tuck (IWB) or a Versa Carry Compound Series (OWB) work great with the weaker waistbands of shorts. The .45 PC used to be my primary EDC but the P365 carries a little better for me. In the end always carry what you shoot well, have confidence in, and carry comfortably.

I waited until I heard everyone bitching about the bugs (in any new release item), and bought mine in Sept. I have only put a few hundred rounds through it but all were flawless. I've determined mine likes heavier bullets, and currently loading the 124 gr. JHP. I have recently loaded up a batch of 147 gr in Hornady XTP, and some Bayou 147 coated. I haven't had time to get those to the range yet, but expect the same flawless operation. What I really like is the way my hand just instinctively fits where it is supposed to. My 9mm Shield never did fit my hand right.

Shot both a 365 and a Shield today and the trigger on the Shield was better and I shot it more accurately. Doesn't mean all Shields are better than all 365s or that someone else wouldn't shoot the 365 better. But, it's what worked for me today.

Sig-Sauer 365

I purchased the model 365 about 3 weeks ago. I was holding out for the new model 365, that came out at the Shot show in January, but the people at Sig customer service tell me that the gun with the safety on it, will not be released to the public until late summer. I bought the one without the safety. It was manufactured in early March of 2019.
So far I have fired 247 rounds thru it, without any problem what so ever. The gun is super accurate for its size, in fact I am going to use it to qualify with next month. Felt recoil on this gun is much less than on the glock 43, in fact it almost feels like a 380. I believe that Sig, has the start up flaws corrected and this is a great gun.

Picked up a P365 last weekend. Build date 3-27-19. Have not been to the range yet.

I shot a P365 for the first time tonight. Very accurate, with moderate recoil for a pistol so small. It is a recent production model -- I noticed perfect striker imprints on the primers, with no drag or smear, so it looks like Sig has fixed one problem everyone (including Sig) said wasn't really a problem.

My opinion on the P365 is tending towards approval. I have opined in the past that it makes sense to hold off on buying one until they work out the bugs. We may be getting past that period, and may be moving forward into the broad, sunlit uplands where confidence abounds. Worth checking one out to see if it fits your hand.

The Best Is an Opinion

After reading all the **** about the P365 having issues too many to list here, I canceled my pre-order and will stick with the Shield (first generation). Why? Because if I'm betting my life on something, I want there to be absolutely ZERO DOUBT about its function and dependability.
I carried a Beretta 96D and then two different Sig P226 weapons before I retired. The Beretta was a piece of total junk and the 226's were tack drivers. I'm sure the P365 will be much better in the future but for now, I'll stick with what I know: Thousands of rounds fired through the Shield with ZERO weapon malfunctions.
:)
I have a Shield too. Had two and sold one. Both really nice pistols. The Shield was my EDC. Thought enough to have a Shield RMS installed on it___a $500 cost. More than i paid with LE pricing.
Acquired the Sig P365 once Sig released the LE orders. As much as i liked the Shield....its now my "desk gun". (Keeping it)
I've found the P365 astoundingly accurate, perfect hand fit and
absolutely reliable. For consumer buying, the night sights is a compensation for the cost over other pistols.
Understand, those associated with LE our sidearms and a BUG are tools. We don't develop an emotional dependence. (Called "love)
This speaks well for the platform.
However, for those who prefer the Shield for EDC are not making mistake! There's other platforms and brands. For personal choice they're likely fine pistols too.
Today's News:

Indiana State Police Adds SIG SAUER P365 as their Back-Up Duty Firearm
NEWINGTON, N.H. –-(Ammoland.com)- SIG SAUER, Inc. is proud to announce the Indiana State Police have adopted the SIG SAUER P365 as their back-up duty firearm for their full complement of troopers. The Indiana State Police is a statewide law enforcement agency comprised of more than 1,250 troopers across fourteen districts throughout the state of Indiana.
“The SIG SAUER P365 gives Indiana State Police Troopers primary carry capabilities in a sub-compact configuration,” began Matt Bilkey, Lt. Colonel, Assistant Chief of Staff Operations, Indiana State Police, “Its high level of accuracy, small size, and high round capacity make it a perfect firearm for our officers, both on and off duty, and is a great counterpart to our primary duty firearm the SIG SAUER P227.”

Latest on the 365!

Have been following it's up's & down's sadly mainly down's and here is the latest "INFO". The mags have always been hard to load however there have been a couple of complaints about mag feeding issues, Hank Strange has a 2 month old vid with a new 365 and it was bad!

Also some have issues with weak night sights and the primer strike issues have not or cant be fixed but I only heard about 2 trigger spring issues on the 2019 guns breaking.

I was almost ready to get 1 in a few, but changed my mind 100% since the latest issue is a "Bad One' and most don't know about it yet, seems since feb. 2019 they use 2 different types of barrels one has a narrow feed ramp and the other is 1/4" wider and both have a diff. taper on ramp.

So far on the Sig Forum there is only 1 post about this & no answers, but on Facebook on the P365 Forum which is closed and U have to join (may take a while) there is a dude who bought 2 2019 P 365's made about a week apart in Feb. 2019 and 1 was for the wife and the other for him and 1 of these 2 wont feed Hornady or Federal HP's but the other feeds all types and since then on this week old post a few people also show picts. of their 2019 barrels and there are 2 types and some say their gun wont feed the above!

Calls & e-mails to Sig have not been answered as to why, but they never respond.

Lipsey's is also now selling Tan ones for $639. but they slide is Ceracrapped and the frame may/may not be Ceracrapped, also there is an ad for pre-orders for 15 rd. mags but on FB they say they ad is a scam!

I have a 365 with a January 27, 2019 "born on" date. It has the non-tapered barrel, feeds anything, and has been flawless. I couldn't be more pleased with the gun.

I am troubled by the inconsistent components apparently being used in guns with almost identical born on dates. If you get one like mine, you will be thrilled with the 365. If you get one with the (apparently) older components, I think you'll still be ok...but, I'm glad to have the one I have. I bought at an LGS and was able to verify the build date and condition of the gun before I purchased. I'd recommend anyone interested in a 365 buy from an LGS so you know what you are getting.

I spend lots of time on the SigTalk forum and there are far more folks pleased with the 365 than ones having troubles.

Glad for you, this tapered or non tapered barrel issue is so new that hardly anybody knows about it even I as many just found out this issue last week!
