After reading all the **** about the P365 having issues too many to list here, I canceled my pre-order and will stick with the Shield (first generation). Why? Because if I'm betting my life on something, I want there to be absolutely ZERO DOUBT about its function and dependability.
I carried a Beretta 96D and then two different Sig P226 weapons before I retired. The Beretta was a piece of total junk and the 226's were tack drivers. I'm sure the P365 will be much better in the future but for now, I'll stick with what I know: Thousands of rounds fired through the Shield with ZERO weapon malfunctions.

I’ve got more rounds through my two P365’s in the last 3 months than I do through my very early (May 2012) Shield. They are incredibly much better shooters than my Shield and haven’t had any issues.

I would sell the Shield but I’d lose money so now it serves as a stash gun. There’s nothing wrong with it; it’s just not as good of a gun for me.

.40 Shield, for me, is the optimal balance of concealability, ballistic performance, magazine capacity and reliability.
Anything else is either less concealable, less ballistic performance, less magazine capacity or less reliable.

There are two things that could be better: Double stack 40 Shield, or .40 chambering for P365. I eagerly await them.

On occasion, I when like to consider visual aesthetics, then the .45 ss lightweight Defender gets the nod. On occasion, I like to have more ballistic performance and more magazine capacity, then the G29 gets the nod. When I sometimes prefer just more capacity, G27 gets the nod

But, for basic, common sense optimal balanced concealed carry, 40 Shield is the cats meow for me.

I love my 1st gen Shield too, it's what I presently carry. But there is still room for my Sig P365.

The gun I'm waiting for is the Shield M3.0. I think it will put together the best points of the Shield M2.0 and the Sig P365.

I was super excited about the 365 when it first came out. I went to my local gun store to hold one and it felt good in the hand compared to my shield. But after watching Tim From MAC on YouTube, I think SIG has a lot of work to do before I consider replacing my shield.

Double stack .40 shield = M&P .40 compact? A little thicker, but could be a good match for you if you like the platform!

I liked my 9mm Shield so much I found a 40 Shield today, haven't shot it yet but I think I'm going to like it. Used 40s in like new condition can be had right now for about 1/2 the cost of a new one.

I recently bought a sig P365. Mine has a June 20 born on date. This is a much better shooting gun than my Shield, but I'm still carrying my shield until I've put enough rounds through the sig to feel confident in it's reliability. So far it's flawless. I agree with previous posts about the shield being reliable, so it's still my edc until the sig proves itself over a longer period.

First production run glitches aside, hey it happens, I've no doubt the P365 will be a long term best seller for Sig. If I wasn't already heavily Shield & Glock supplied in the Sub-9mm category I'd get a P365. "If" needed, Sig has good after purchase customer service.

:DI'm glad I pounded tens of thousands of worry free rounds thru my out-of-the-box Colt Government Models and Smith & Wesson Revolvers before the age of social media appeared to tell me how inadequately armed I was and how unreliable they both are...LOL
;)

It’s a lot bigger then the 365.

Not that much bigger:)

In my hands it's more ergonomic than my P365 and I like the grip texture more. Except for the very long pre travel the trigger is actually pretty nice. With 1K+ trouble free rounds the trigger is actually smoother than any of my 2.0 pistols before installing Apex kits. I actually like the trigger more than any of my Glocks too.

I’m at 1500 flawless rounds through the 365. Size wise it can’t be beat. Of course some people are more comfortable with fuller size guns.

At $599 the P365 is over double what I paid for my Shield. That gun would have to jump off the table and clean itself before I would even consider it. Even at twice the price, something about the 365 looks cheap to me. And I don't mean the cheap internals from India.
