Can't buy ammo in CT anymore....

There's an estimated 4.5 million gunowners in NY, ~25% of the population. They are for the vast majority located outside NYC. Travel upstate and you'd think you were in the south.

And an estimated 1 million AR's in NY.

Unfortunately, NYC and their politicians have control of the Legislature.

US Senators are elected by statewide vote. Schumer and Gillibrand both rated F by the NRA. There is no hope for NY. Come on down. Weuns in the South would be honored to have ya down here... and your vote would cancel out an anti-gun voter who moved down here from the North. :)

That's a good thing, and glad to see people doing so.
Beware though. People from NY, NJ, CT and Mass are moving to southern states in droves including Tn. Not all are gun friendly, and some states are turning purple. Just look at Va, Fl and NC, once solidly red states.

Unfortunately they are also moving to Texas and getting into politics.

A friend of mine, he has guns, just moved around Loudon-Lenoir. He absolutely loves it.

I'm buying all the ammo i can. Living in Delaware has no gun laws like you have. Knowing i'm moving to N.Y. -I am buying and buying and buying -so i have all the ammo i need for the next 20 years.

The Northeast has become the model for the anti-gun domino principle ... one state at a time, they have dropped. I spent way too many years in CT, and though there was little rhyme or reason to many of the firearms laws, CCW was not a problem and what I could own was reasonable. CT has changed quite a bit in the last five years since I fled to the free state of PA, all for the worse. CT will soon be as Drakonian as MA, NJ, and NY, and the anti-gun plague will gradually bleed down the East Coast toward the Mason Dixon line. How far south south will it go? Tough to call, but I don't think anti-gun mania takes hold in the Carolinas, though VA is on its way, like MD.

When the day comes to leave PA for warmer climes, TN is high on the list, as are a couple states out West. The Mrs. keeps dreaming about moving to SoCal after our little Diva Shooter graduates High School in six more years. I told her to enjoy the Sunset Strip, and send me a postcard as time permits.

I've been watching that my whole life in Georgia. I ask them why they voted the way they did in ny, then continue to do so in Georgia. I point out how that kind of voting made taxes and cost of living so high that they left... But they don't understand my theory

wow that's great, I bet the crime rate has been cut in half and people are leaving there doors unlocked at night..... sarcasm of course... This is ridiculous, and what gets me is that no matter what store you go in if you're buying ammo, the cashier immediately goes into defensive jerk mode.....visit my state.... South Carolina you can buy all you want and we'll help you tote it to your car. lol...at least for now

Don't kid yourself. I'm from St Lawrence county which is way upstate and was shocked to realize about 60 percent of the county votes Democrat. Just look at the results from any of the last couple of Presidential elections. It isn't just City folks that are ruining NY and the rest of this country.

I had a long winded post I just deleted but without being political.

To win office today, just offer the most free stuff.

The scales have tipped, we lose :(

Gun laws are a symptom not the disease.

Dont fight symptoms, fight the disease...

I was born in NY. I've lived most my life here and both my children live here. After the clandestine way the NY Safe Act was passed I was as angry and dissapointed as I've ever been. I immediately wanted to move to a free state. Part of me wants to stand here and fight back after all this has been my home, but I realize that the votes are not in my favor in this state. It's really too bad I have a nice place and a little land that I have worked to call mine. The hunting is good and I know it's hard to believe for some of you who are not familiar with Upstate we do have the largest wildlife park in the lower 48 in Adirondack Park, It's more acreage than Yellowstone or Glacier.
I've given alot of thought as to where I would like to spend my waning years and I really like eastern Kentucky. The wife is not keen on leaving the kids though and it's a tough sell. I will retire next month and maybe do some looking down in Kentucky and try to change here mind but I sure do hate letting the antis run me out of my own home.

Think of the people that have fought and died for your freedom. By comparison it seems a small effort to simply move. Va could use you to help compensate for the socialist libs that have moved to northern Va. We need help before we get as bad as New York/etc.
WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?

I run into this often and am kinda half expecting it now. I live in PA so no problems here with guns/ammo but occasionally I go to New Jersey and if I'm driving by a gun store I'll stop in. We'll some employees are cool when you tell them you're from Pa and don't have a fOID card but others won't let you even touch a gun

Your right -can't even touch !!! When i go to the range with Jr. in N.J. we always stop and look at new guns.. That's all you can do is look !! Not so much at a real gun store, they will pull it out and you will get to hold it without the clip.....

I'm sure every staunch 2A supporter residing in a anti-gun state would love to yell, "Damn the torpedos!", "Remember the Alamo!", "Live free or die!", etc. while packing up the moving truck. Unfortunately that's more fanciful thinking than reality. Careers, children, mortgages, and familial roots are powerful inhibitors to simply moving to a free state. Some folks are lucky to be in positions to choose ... others are stuck due to circumstances. I was in the former group when I left CT several years ago in that the move out of state was back to the small PA town where my wife's family is. I do recall seeing some beautiful houses for sale over the border in NY, but I would not consider any of them, determined to stay on the PA side of the map. Things worked out, and I enjoy my 2A rights. That said, upstate NY is a beautiful place, and I would have gladly moved there if the laws were more favorable to my interests.

This is the United States. People from Mass. shouldn't have to move to Texas to enjoy the rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution! And if the liberals have their way, and the Presidential election becomes a popular vote instead of the electoral system, you guys down south and out west will never have a say. The people in NY city, LA and Chicago will always decide who runs the country. The fight here in Mass. or NY or Cal. is a fight for the gun rights of all. Make no mistake about that. If you think that you can avoid the fight by moving to another state you are fooling yourself. If you think they will stop once they disarm Massachusetts citizens, you are really fooling yourself.

Other states HAVE been fighting, and winning. Take a look at the 'Shall Issue' animated map on this link. Look how Shall Issue has swept across the nation in the past 25 years. Can't blame the NRA, GOAL or retailers for that.
