I have been carrying for a number of years now, to the point that I feel funny going without. I have been invited to a MLB game today and checked the park's website and found that firearms are prohibited in the park. As a guest of someone else I will honor the parks rules. I checked a number of stadium venue websites and they ALL prohibit firearms. This leaves me a bit frustrated. Has the NRA ever supported carry in sports venues the way they have in restaurants? Should they, or is this too big of a hornets nest?

Large public sporting events have always been off limits where I reside. Must be something to do with the combination of true love for ones favorite team, beer and haggling opponents.

Strictly prohibited in every ball yard which I have visted this summer. That includes those in San Francisco, Oakland, New York , and Baltimore.

Interestingly, when I went to a Baltimore Ravens game a few years ago whilst still on the job as a LEO, off-duty LEO's and those in mufti were issued wristbands denoting them as CCW. I had mixed thoughts regarding that policy but didn't want to miss the game and always avoid leaving my gun in a vehicle.

Be safe.

Here in Florida it's off limits based on state law. I can kind of understand why...I was at a Rays game last Sunday and if I'd have had my gun I'd have been tempted to use it on this one particularly obnoxious Red Sox fan (nothing against Red Sox fans, but this guy was out of control :p ).

The NRA supported restaurant carry because state laws forbade carry in restaurants that serve alcohol. as far as I know MLB?NFL stadiums forbid firearms as a matter of league or owner policy not state law. any owner of private property, including restaurants can forbid firearms on their property. Thats not something the NRS get in to.

In Ohio, they'll always be off limits until they change the law on carry where there's liquor sold for on premise consumption.

Fortunately for me, I have zero interest in sports. The good news is that the mall around the corner from me isn't posted and especially, neither is Books-a-Million that's there!

The stadiums may very well prohibit firearms as a matter of policy, but as ab4ka pointed out it is unlawful in Florida to carry to a professional athletic event not related to firearms. See Chapter 790.06 (12).

Living near Seattle, I've been to many Mariner and Seahawks games.

I usually carry but once a couple years ago I went to Safeco Field for a game and they actually patted down everyone. Something told me to leave mine in the car so I did.

I wasn't a very good pat down though. They didn't check for pocket or ankle carry.

I have been searched and patted down at Fenway park. Carry at your own risk.
