Case colors on model 24-5

I'm looking at a Heritage Special 24-5 with gorgeous case colors.

Did Turnbull Restorations do the case colors on those? I know there were only 150 made and some weren't case colored.

Somebody will know the answer I'm sure.

Yes, all the Heritage models were case hardened by Turnbull, they are great, high-quality revolvers, not case colored like many of the Rugers are ....

Some poeple confuse the Heritage model with the later Classic version, which are not done by Mr. Turnbull. Mine looks and shoots great.

Ruger actually did a couple of distributer runs with Turnbull. I own both, a 45 Colt Bisley (500 made) and a 44 Mag Super Blackhawk (1000 made). They are extremely well assembled pieces and have Turnbull specific serial numbers with the Bisley having the "Turnbull" stamp as well.

All of the Heritage revolvers that I have owned with the color case hardened frames have Doug Turnbull's logo stamped on the grip frame

That is not quite correct, though I can see why a seller might want to leave you believing that

150 Model 24s were ordered in blue and an additional 150 Model 24s were ordered in the color case hardened finish. The two finishes have different SKUs (product codes). I do not know how many eventually were delivered to Lew Horton

Turnbull did all of the CCH Heritage revolvers

The Classic series carried a different dash number. The Heritage series were 24-5's while the Classics were 24-6. The 24-6's were available in blue and nickel finishes - I don't believe they were available in CCH.

The Classics were in the pattern of the model of 1950 with a ribbed barrel, while the Heritage models were patterned after the model of 1926 with a plain barrel.

You could probably just send the sight, easier and less expensive to ship!

This USFA was one of the Turnbull guns. An impulse buy, it was in the case at my LGS one day and those colors just called out to me. Things being what they are, I wish I had bought a dozen of them.
