I really like the "swing guard" model on the far left. I had several of them, made either by Case or K-bar, over the years. Sadly I either lost o gave them away. Oh well such is life.

Here is a "centenial" model I bought about 23 years ago. I have another old one I found by a pile of deer guts 50 years ago but the stag handle got broke.

Purty ain't they? :D

I have a Case stag medium stockman that I carry, and a stag mini toothpick and a stag 1979 Bradford Centennial trapper stashed away.

Good knife pictures Xfuzz. Do you collect any Case Stag Peanut knives? I too collect Case knives and have many. The Peanuts from '77--'80 are neat knives.

I had a Case Cheetah (the one with the swing guard). It had etched on the blade, "Case Razor Edge". I understand that was an early one. After 14 years one day it "walked away".
Seen them on the auction sites, but for far more than the $27.50 I paid for mine.
I congratulate you for keeping yours, and in such nice condition.

I have just two Case knives, a stainless Scout model with brown Delrin scales and a Model 6347 medium Stockman with red bone scales. Both are very well made.

I somewhat prefer Puma and Carl Schlieper (Eye Brand) knives, but Case are well made, although I've heard many comments that they don't hold an edge as well as some.

How do your Case products perform? Do any of you use recent ones, or just collect them?

Frankly, most of my "using" pocketknives are by Victorinox. I always need some tool on the Swiss Army line if I carry a Trapper or Stockman pattern.

I carry and use my Case medium stockman from the 90's, mainly to cut cigars and open mail. Have no complaints on the durability of the edge--it's thin and delicate, and I don't expect to cut bone with it and then shave.

But I can shave with it.

Buy one now and again . Although this one is not stag, I do have several that are, mainly copperheads and mini copperheads.

I got no real use for the "tactical" type knives. If it was good enough for my Grandfather (Papaw), then its good enough for me! No School like the Old School! Give me a good Case Knife any day!!!!!

LOVE stag on most knives and older revolvers---have an early 80s Jimmy Lile stag "hunter" fixed-blade and an 80s era SOG 6"+ fixed-blade that SOG claims they never made with a stag grip---well, I have it! Stags also look great on my 50s Ruger Flattop 357 and my early 3rd Gen Colt SAA in 44 Special---both 4 3/4" barrels.

I have always carried a Case knife as my EDC. Right know there is a yellow Trapper in my pocket. They are made here in Pennsylvania.

I have a Spyderco clipped to my pocket but Case foldin' knives are what warms an old mans heart!:)

I have four Case knives that my dad gave me not long ago, and it has sparked a new interest for me. I have cleaned them all up, while being careful not to remove the patina, and I am particularly fond of the 6231-1/2 with the red bone scales. I have been carrying that one every day and it has a nice, sharp edge on both blades.

That's a great knife, Bombsaway. I've got a 31 1/2 and a couple of the 35 1/2s (a little smaller) and they are some of my favorite knives. Mine are all ebay purchases, made in the 70s, and have Delrin scales, but still terrific users.

Yours has lovely red bone scales. The springs on all three of my Case tear drop jacks are like bear traps! Keep your fingers away from those things when you close 'em!

Yep, I learned the hard way about the snap these things have. Got the scar to prove it too!!

Nice collection.

I call the 31 1/2 a "man's knife". It literally is--I've handed it to two females who both tried and failed to open it. I won't give it to another--I'm afraid she'd cut herself!

It is great that you didnt over clean your dad's knives. I have collected antique knives for decades now and as a young collector I over cleaned all my early knives. I repeatly bang my head against a wall everytime I see one of my classic early knives with a shiny blade, knowing I was responsible for ruining it. Same as refinishing an old gun. I now clean old knives very carefully, understanding that once cleaned the knife is never the same. I clean out all the innards and LIGHTLY clean the blades. I then sharpen them all as a sharp knife is useless.
