In Michigan they take your wepon may or may not give you a ticket ! You then go get your permit were you left it or here in Wayne county if you lost it go to the main clerks office downtown pay $25.00 and they issue you a replacement on the spot !
THEN



Take your permit to the PD that took your wepon and they will by law give it back to you !

I NEVER get in my vehicle and drive away from my house, WITHOUT the following:

My wallet, with all of my ID "stuff", DL, CHL, and at least a few dollars...

My Gun, and extra ammo...

My Cell Phone, with charger...

My Garmin vehicle GPS...

Extra reading glasses...

Clothing proper for the weather conditions, just in case I have car trouble, I am prepared for the elements.

Enough Water for at least several hours in the heat, again in case of car trouble.

WHENEVER I get in a vehicle, I ALWAYS have the above with me...

If you get pulled over in NY with a gun and no ID.... Good Luck.

They will take your gun. YOU have to get it back. They can detain or arrest you which will get your car towed. Un screw your self is a good way to put it.

I got in a motorcycle accident. I asked the officer present to take my handgun before they loaded me in the ambulance. He did. After I got out of the hospital, I went to the police station, showed them my permit and got my gun back with a "Good Luck".
