I wanted to share my latest find, I've had some good luck hunting down some nice SW's of late. I picked this up last Thursday. Fella posted it on a local site, I almost fell over when he posted 675.00 OBO ... I contacted him and told him I'll take it. He posted it with original box, had all the paper's and such, but the org label fell off. So gun, plastic SW case, all paperwork, warranty card, lock. He said he go 650.00 .. He sent me some pictures and we met up. She was dirty and needed a complete break down and cleaning. After a complete tear down, she came up real nice ...

Model 629-4 in 5" ................ Pretty happy to add a 5" to the collection for 650.00

High water mark of SW .44 Mag evolution IMO.
All the stuff you want none of the stuff you dont...even has the original rubber grips with medallions... ;)

BTW that was a total bargain !

Great deal, I have a 629-6 5" and really like the balance with the 5" barrel.

I ran across the same thing in a -5 on gunbroker from an estate sale awhile back that had a buy it now price in the same ballpark. Needed a cleaning, but they're out there to find if you keep an eye out.

That was the first new S&W that I ever bought. Fall of '95, I ordered it through Simmons in Bessemer AL. Still have it.

I recently put a Vortex red dot on it and poppin' steel at 100 yds is still mighty fun. I only have a couple of stainless guns but that will always be a keeper.
