Chambered or not?

I prefer an automatic for the previously stated reason that I could probably scare the six pack off with the "racking the slide sound".
That may work in your neighborhood, but around here, the six-packs travel in packs, and don't scare off so easily.
The reason I almost always carry my 340pd. I feel very comfortable with it. I have a cocked and locked and a striker fired pistol but don't feel comfortable carrying them chambered. The j frame is for me. Just pull the trigger plus I just plain like them. I may eventually trade to all revolvers. I can shoot them well also.

I'm not sure, but I believe that warning shots fall into Category I Repetitive and Wasted Threads, like 9mm vs .45ACP, rather than Category II, like Whether or Not to Chamber a Round.

Do that, and the beer cans will sue you for assault and you'll be arrested. Beer cans or bottles can cut you up real bad, so I'd take any action on their part real seriously. Double tap the Rockies with 'em!

I prefer a 14 shot scattergun. That way I have plenty of warning shots and it's so much easier to engage that 36 pack. Of course I have to hit that pesky little bolt release which can be hard when you're seeing double....
You're complaining about a target-rich environment?

I'm complaining that the enemy tried to ply me with beer prior to assaulting my house via the front lawn in can mountain formation. The tactic is apparently effective as they have convinced the neighbors of their harmless inanimate nature. I prefer this tactic to conventional maneuvering because it presents a bigger target. As Doc Holiday said, "I've got two guns...one for each of you." Both piles are covered this way.
