Took my carry guns to the range today for a little workout and chance to breath. I usually carry a 1.0 Shield or a model 12-2 revolver and both shot admirably but my third carry is a 1987 CZ82 that I bought years ago for around $200. This little pistol never ceases to amaze me, accurate, reliable, really nice trigger in both SA and DA. It's a tad heavy but it's all steel. They sell for a little more than $200 these days but still not real high. If you're in the market for something a tad different snag one if you see it. The chrome lined bore isn't worn out either, the bore has polygonal rifling. Any other owners care to sing the praises of this cheap little surplus pistol.

About 30 rounds of 9X18 Silver Bear @ 7 1/2 yards.

I have one I bought probably about the same time you bought yours. I've occasionally carried it CCW and loaned it to a nephew for a while who was working through college as an armed security guard. He had no trouble qualifying with the CZ82. I've heard the Glock warnings but I've never had any trouble shooting cast bullets through mine.

I've had a few over the past several years………all have been reliable and very well made!

I bought one a few months ago. You're right, I paid $300.00 for it, but at least it had two magazines. Good solid little gun. I've only fired 50 or so rounds, about evenly divided between Norma FMJ and Silver Bear HP's. No problems with either. I've got a "no name" IWB holster that fits it perfectly, but I don't carry it.

But it would do the job if asked.

For the prices they initially came in at, they were absurdly good deals. I had both an 82 and an 83 (.380), and I loved everything about them except shooting them. I've got big hands and I'm guessing a modern high-grip shooting style which the 82 did not like, resulting in some awful bite (I don't remember if it was the hammer or just the recoil pinching skin in elsewhere). This was after burning up a 50rd box. Very cool otherwise, and I wouldn't mind finding one of the .32ACP 83s someday.

Looking for an 82 in 9 mak

I would certainly have bought one of these when they were 200 but I'm mostly seeing them for 400-450 now. If i ever run across one for 300 I will take it. 9mm mak is a pretty expensive round at about 40 cents right now too. But I like CZ guns and will keep my eyes open.

I have 2 macarons in 9x18 , one is a Bulgarian one is an East German . My brother got thereabout 30-40 years ago for $60 . Him and a friend ordered a batch through Shotgun News . They are a little heavy , probably like the CZ , but good shooters . Any of you reload this cartridge PM me . A bought some ammo from Georgia Arms years ago , new , and it is in Starline brass . I usually shoot my Silver Bear , but I'll shoot some of the GA to get the brass .

Wonderful handgun !! Wish I still had mine, was stolen last year. Hope the ammo crunch bit them.

Have one, love it. Shoots great and carries fine in the right holster. I really like the controls and the handling/carrying options they give you. Only set me back $160 five or six years ago.

The one I had (sold because???) had a really nice DA trigger pull. 9x18 isn't the worlds most powerful cartridge, but the 82 makes it very easy to fire and hit with multiple shots.

My wife had one. It was a good little shooter but we sold it when we consolidated to 9mm.
