Subject basically explains it. CCI mini mags are all I shoot (for two years in my Walther P22), and now in my new M&P 15-22 MOE.

I'm lookin for the cheapest bulk Mini Mags I can find. I don't particularly want Blazers even though they're much cheaper as they're just messier than the coated Mini Mags. I torture tested my P22, which is supposed to be ammo picky. I picked the ammo listed as one of the best. And over the course of a year, put over a 1000 rounds through it...without ever cleaning it, not even when I bought it. The slide just got slow towards the end and didn't want to feed the initial round into the chamber. But it still fired flawlessly. Can't do that with dirty or no coated bullets, haha.

Yes, I'm a 22lr ammo snob....but it's a TOTALLY different story for the 5.56mm that we got, lol. We'll fire anything but Wolf through it.

thanks!

Try looking on LuckyGunner.com
I have just started looking for 22LR myself.
LuckyGunner had my ammo at the front door with in two days of ordering.

Cabelas has them for $5.50 a box of 100 yesterday and today only. Bought 10 boxes.

thx for the tip....ordered 1k CCI mini mag from Cabela's..they are also offering $20 off on orders over $100...

Thanks for the headsup. ordered 4 boxes and saved an additional $20. :)

Cool, I may just check out those CCI tacticals.....especially if they go on sale next week!! And pick up some Stinger HP's for varmits, hehehehe.

Regular price is only $20 so 10% isn't super but better than nothing, Still a good value. I'm more suprised by the $5.5 minimags instead of 7. (22%)

sorry to sound stupid, but i cannot see the minimags for $5.5 on cabelas website.. or the tactical 375 box. I only see the tactical 1500 rounds which is currently on back order.

The are not on the website they are in the stores. They were advertised in a flyer in the paper this week. Cabelas always does this. The have stuff on the web all the time you can't get in the store.

I confess to being a 22 snob as well, but with the prices steadily rising I started shopping and running field tests.

I have used MiniMags for 35+ years, but I can't stomach $5.5 for 100.

Short story long, I tried Federal Bulk Packs (550 rounds) from WalMart and was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy. consistency and cleanliness. When I first tried them they were $12 or $13 and I bought five bricks. When they went to $15 I bought 5 more. When they hit $17 I used a shopping cart and got 10. Last time I looked they were $19 or so.

I've shot them in several pistols and rifles and haven't found a misfire yet.

I totally agree. As good as mini mags are I can't see spending 6 bucks for 100 when I can spend $20.01 (tax included) at walmart for federal bulk 550. IMO they shoot almost just as clean as the cci's and the accuracy is fine for what they are.

Cheapest I've paid lately for 40gr Mini-Mag is $5.90/100rds plus shipping... there should be better deals out there, but I just decided to pick up a case in a pinch.

Federal Game-shok 40gr (almost equivalent to Mini-Mag) can be had around $5.58/100rds last I saw.

Someone was saying in another forum there might be CCI 40gr "Tactical" on sale at Cabela's this week or next (brick and mortar only) for $17.99/375rds. Not positive on this one since I don't have a Cabela's locally.

I shoot about 100o rounds in a weekend. Needless to say, In terms of price, I constantly scour the internet for the best deals. Right now, PalmettoStateArmory.com has the best price on CCI Blazers at $14.99 per 525 box. Cheapest Mini Mags are found at wholesalehunter.com at $5.20 per 100.

^Wow, thanks!

edit: bahh, the shipping for the CCI made it more expensive than what I'd get in person. Hate when that happens

edit 2: oh duh..were talking bulk right? hehe

How fast does that wholesalehunter.com ship. I am thinking of ordering some today, you think it would get to cali by friday?

I know it seems like "a lot" to pay when you're lookin at $6.00 per hundred, but in reality, it's still the cheapest I shoot, it's one of the best rounds I've ever used in the Mini Mags. I'm definitely going to give their Tactical 22's a try.

Lots of good info so far guys; I'm glad this thread is helping others also!

I definately agree you could be paying 30$+ per 100 for .223

Hell, I've got some TAP Hornady .223's that cost $25 because they're 75 grain'ers......AND THAT'S FOR 20 ROUNDS. I'd imagine that they're even more spendy in5.56 (our Stag Arms 2t is 5.56mm NATO, so it does both that and .223's safely) All things considered, Mini Mags are a deal. I can't wait to try the new Tactical 22's from CCI; I'm sure that they're a winner too!

Eef, couldn't get myself to order 4 little boxes of these even though they're a good price so settled for 3. Thanks for the link to "Wholesale Hunter". Does it mention anywhere how long the sale's going on? I didn't see any date

Wholesalehunter.com - $5.20 per + shipping.

CCI 22LR HP MiniMag Per/100 - Wholesale Hunter

Purchased 50 packages (1 case), came to about $280 with shipping and no tax, around $5.60 per package.

When you add in shipping (at least for 1500 rounds) the Gander Mountain deal is better. I ordered 1500 rounds from Gander Mountain for $84.95 with free shipping. Wholesale Hunter wanted $12.50 for the cheapest shipping method (UPS ground) for a total of $90.50 for 1500. And I ordered from Gander Mountain Monday and received them today.

If you order larger quantities then the freight per box might drop and make the Wholesale Hunter price better. Also note that the Gander Mountain deal is for the 40 grain round nose while Wholesale Hunter has the 36 grain hollow point. So if you prefer one over the other that might affect your decision.

Just my $0.02.

Just picked up some mini mags tags today at wal-mart. Both fmj and hollow points were $6.95 per 100.

Have been buying Federal bulk packs at WalMart for $15.47. When you add sales tax that is $.03044777 per round.
They have been bright, shiney, and clean and shoot well in both my 617 and High Standard pistol.

Me too! It's about the cleanest 22LR ammo I've shot. Much less carbon residue. It also feeds better for me in cold weather than any of the lubed stuff (including CCI).
