Check out this new Bodyguard defect

Some of you guys go way over board to knock S&W around... any idea how many guns a day go out of there...... this doesn't speak volumnes.... it says one got away... period.. 3 years ago, this conversation would have had a completely different tone...

I disagree with you 100%, there is no reason for a new gun to leave the factory in this shape, if one gets away then I guarantee you that there are many more behind this one. And it does speak volumes, the competition is fierce in the handgun market it is time for all gun manufacturers to step up their game, all of them have many many mfg issues not just S&W. They've become complacent and naive to the marketplace and us customers have also become complacent and naive, I for myself expect much better.

Agreed. How many people have bought something...anything...got it home and it either doesn't work right, or a part's missing, or it's broken? I know I have. The Quality Control Grinches can strike any company, anywhere, any time. No company on the planet is 100% perfect 100% of the time.

If these were widgets I would agree with you, but the reality is, these protect our families and our lives.

That's a Keeper! Will be a collectors item in several years! I would lock it up and get another. If you must shoot it, like another poster said, Grip tape it and carry on.
Come on S&W, pay attention.
Ofc.JL

If S&W mistakes become collector's items, then collectors of such will have a very big collection based on today's quality control...

Id chalk it up as a ....hey thanks for buying Smith&Wesson. Here is a rare one off slide. Kinda like a golden ticket :)

Stuff happens..its one gun right? And not a complete run of guns... lucky dog?
