Well, my CS9 NOW only has one spring under the rear sight.. Should I give S&W a call and ask them to send me replacements plungers and springs so I can have everything back the way it should be?

Daynmmm I can be dumb. But I'm old so many times I can get away with it..

Jesse, that will be up to you. If you removed the plastic plunger on the non ejection side, that is the mag safety. Now your trigger will function without a mag. Not how the factory intended.

if the ejection side metal plunger is out, then you have removed the firing pin safety plunger. again not how the factory intended and technically speaking you have a free "wheelin" firing pin.

I can only suggest you return the gun to factory condition.

there has been much chatter about removing the mag safety as FBI 1076's did not have this feature. many want to be able to fire their gun if the mag is missing or not seated properly.

I asked this question years ago looking for information or stats on misfires related to a SW semi that did not have the mag seated. I could not find any. there might be some, but I did not get any responses.

again your decision, but if your asking I would keep it factory.

Hi Jesse.When my gusmith was installing my Night Sights the springs went bye bye.Customer Service was insisting that he send my slide to them to have the springs reinserted.He had to go home and retrive his Smith and Wesson Armorer's ID # before they would sell and ship the springs to him.Being this is one of your carry guns I would have it shipped to Smith to have it returned to factory condition.God forbid if you ever have to use it a lawyer wont have the opportunity to throw the line of Bull that you actively and intentionally disabled a factory installed safety device.....God Bless....Mike

PX, if you are a tinkerer, dont just buy one.

I probably have enough springs on my garage floor to start an outlet. the only problem is, I haven't found any of them yet

they are cheap enough to keep a few handy.

Ok, I am home and I looked at my sight. It looks identical to the sight in your picture and does not have anything on it describing it as a Novak. I know that other Novak sights I have seen, have their name on it. Mine appears to be a plain two dot rear sight. Once the spring "honey do" list shortens, I will be looking into the Big Dog grips and perhaps a sight. The new sight is iffy only because I can hit my 8.5 x 11" target every time at ten yards. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I am going to do some 3 and 5 yard shooting to see how it shoots.
