This is a beauty.
I love the basic design of the S&W Mod. 36/60.
The one I have is a Mod. 60 with 3 inch barrel. manufactured in early 90s. My fav. gun to shoot and carry.

Was it something put together specially for someone at the factory or with some kind of extra "pull" with S&W? BTW, do you ignore the latch type when separating variations? Just askin'

I have two Baby Chiefs, one blue and one nickel. The blue is 5 screw, serrated ramp sight, flat latch, 2" barrel, coarse serrated hammer, serial number 30445. The other is nickel, 5 screw, serrated ramp sight, flat latch, 2" barrel, fine serrated hammer, matching numbered grips, serial number 34400.
This info is for hondo's records and Jim"s nickel records. This forum has so many knowledgeable people ! I LOVE it.

My father was a police officer that carried an old model 36 chief 38 spl 2".
The serial number is 8404. He was on the police dept from 1940 to 1968 .I know this is an old one. Just don't know how old. Anybody know?

I'm looking for my old M37, # 54057.
Last seen in North Haldon, NJ.
I was arrested for having possion. ( locked in my trunk).
Jury trial said not guilty.
Gun not returned at the time. Never returned to me.
