Baby Chief...Finally !

An interesting feature found on SW's made in that 1951-52 era are the stock medallions which are normally nickle plated brass briefly changed to plastic for around a year and then stainless steel after that for around one year, IIRC it was due to brass shortages during the Korean conflict.
 
Just as a reference, I paid $800 for mine with a nice Chief Special box that is not from this particular year. Mine is in excellent condition and all matching including the grips. I have seen the early pristine half-round site versions with correct tools and boxes go for up to about $1500. They do not come up for sale often and when they do there is a lot of interest.
