Firstly, I would offer my condolences to the families of those killed and to say I am in no way shape or form condone the killers actions.
But this whole thing bothers me. I finally did a search on Dorner's manifesto but came across six differing versions. I believe the long version was edited by another then the author. I will also say sorry, this will be a long post.
1. The first part of the manifesto tells of his case against the LAPD, the Harbor division and Southwest division, specifically. Dorner writes how corruption isn't in his 'DNA' throughout. Then he names specific 'high value' targets in those divisions. Then warns outside agencies to not get involved.
He writes very well coming from a private school upbringing (also stated in the manifesto).
Then suddenly the rambling starts. Reading it, the language is different. Don't they do a psychological profile on every potential recruit? It reads like what a bipolar person would write. Previous paragraphs are concise and direct. The gun control rant runs on and it seems like the author is rambling; a far cry from the previous parts.
The paragraph starts with, "If you had a well regulated AWB, this would not happen". Wasn't the manifest written before this incident started? And how would an AWB prevent his actions? Why would he want to regulate his own actions?
Other confusing items.
2. Time difference. If the time tables are correct and the case was over on 1/09 then its been four years! edit: in 2011 he appealed the decision. That's when Quan represented him.
3. "KMA-367 license plate frames are great target indicators and make target selection even easier." According to LAPD website, KMA-367 license plate frames went out in the late 80's; Dorner became an officer 2005. Fifteen years difference.
4. "I am an American by choice..." He should have been an American by birth [NYC].
5. "I will utilize OSINT... IMINT... Its amazing whats on NIPR." OSiNT is open source intelligence, IMINT is image intelligence and NIPR is non-classified internet IP router network. Anyone able to gather information from NIPR or IMNT would have to have satellite imagery (Google earth doesn't refresh often enough) and have network administration knowledge (whois I don't believe works with net masking or port forwarding); nothing in his background would warrant (sonar tech, poly science degree, psych major).
It sounds like someone took his manifesto and added bunch of stuff such as his supporting gun control because they knew it will be read by many (although Dorner was a frequent hunter).
