Christmas cards: Do you send 'em?

Do you send out Christmas cards every year?

For all you gents who think your handwriting is terrible and the worst ever, think again.

When I was in school, my teachers used to call my handwriting: "Chicken Scratch" and I was forced to rewrite hundreds of assignments through the years.

Personally, I think it was a conspiracy against me." :D :D

Still, in the end--it never improved.

Did you get to wear the dunce hat, before me, or after?

I know we must have had the same teacher.:rolleyes:

Yes, just not as many as we used to.

When we returned from overseas in '98, we were sending close to 70 per year between both families, friends and missionaries we support.

Now, it's a tad over 30...lost track of some, some get a pdf file via email...

Mine must be worse. I accidentally sent you the latest winning lottery numbers and you still haven't cashed in. May I have them back please?

No dunce cap but, one teacher brought in a cardboad box that was large enough to put a refridgerater in, then placed a spare desk in, and sat it off by itself near her desk. The front was cut down just enough to see the chalkboard, the rest was left original unaltered state. I was sentenced to it for a week because she thought I was intentionally messing up my writing even though I wasnt. I got sentenced to it one other time for getting into a fight on the playground.

I was wondering why they refused my prize?:D

Actually, I do know one other whose writing is even worse than mine--my friend of about 25 years---Steve. He sent me a note one time about a year ago. It was so bad and I could make out on;y his first name. I called him up so I could find out what he said. He couldnt remember, so I mailed it back for him to look at it. A few days later, he called me back and said he couldnt read it. I remember he had to use a typewriter in school, so they could read his stuff. He had a portable he carried all the time.

Again, on a more serious note...Somewhere in the not too distant past, I read that some schools were making an effort to bring back cursive writing..

Duh....I wish I could find a old grade school grade card, when we used to get graded on our penmanship......probably a D-

With this computer writing and the use of "texting", cursive writing is pretty much a lost art.

Same goes for knowledge of correct spelling, without using a spell checker.

Once I was visiting my aunt and uncle. While I was there she gave him a birthday card. He looked at it and said, "Why you cheapskate! This is the same card you gave me last year!"

I've never sent any. When I was married my wife did. It's funny that now I only get Christmas cards from those who take my money; my bank, financial advisor, bookkeeper, advertising medias, etc. I'm serious! Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year! $$$ Cha Ching $$$ :)

Christmas cards? Nope. My wife does it for us. I don't like cards, they aren't as good as a phone call.

Hand writing? Forgetaboutit.

I have the worst hand writing skills. I'm sure I was supposed to be left handed. My father is as well as my brother. I was taught to tie my shoes by both mom and Dad, I didn't realize why my knots were crooked until I was in my twenties. :o

Oddly I can draw up a sight plan that the inspectors ask me who did it thinking that I had a pro do it for me. I took architectural and mechanical drafting in high school. My teachers were astonished. Remember "pin and ink"?. No room for error.
