Clint Eastwood Preference?

I like most of his movies.... especially Unforgiven, lots of great lines in that one..
This scene always makes me smile too. ...

I prefer chili and cheese, but in a pinch I've been known to put ketchup on a hot dog.

/...I cannot stand spaghetti westerns. Something about the sound really turns me off. The dubbed voices and ricochet sounds just get on my nerves almost immediately and I have to turn them off. Been that way since I was a kid too, I didn't like the assorted "sword & sandal" Italian movies either.

Well stated. I have the same aversion to them.

I believe the whole reference to the ketchup on a hot
dog has to refer to where the guy got shot and how
bloody he was.

I've been following this thread with interest. I've never seen that bridges movie but like most of Clint's movies. Unlike some that have commented I'm not a fan of Unforgiven. Unless I missed it no one mentioned Pink Cadillac. MY favorite has to be The good, the bad and the ugly. My favorite line:

I think it was No country for old men. After the ending, I commented that now I have to watch Dirty Harry to get the taste out of my mouth.

Choosing between Clint's spaghetti westerns and dirty harry films? Sounds like a tough call. A man's got to know his limitations.

===============

I liked almost all his films, as actor & director. One he directed I thought really nifty was Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil.

Of course the Dirty Harry series , BUT and one of my all time favorites is " Coogans Bluff " . He was a Deputy Sheriff out of Prescott Az . Being a native out of AZ myself , Coogans Bluff is right at the top of the list . Regards, Paul

I like (most) CE movies.

Hard to beat Josie Wales though.

WR

there is a mexican restaurant in downtown kanab utah, full of josey wales stuff. they use to eat there during the filming. just to the south of fredonia, adjoing kanab on the arizona side is some turf familar in the movie.
i like mostly all his movies, but josie wales is a classic.

I love watching CE's old westerns the most I think. The one movie that really surprised my was "Million Dollar Baby". I went into it thinking it was going to be disappointing, but it was a great movie, one of may favorites actually.

Have not yet seen "The Mule", but I know I'll like it. The Every Which Way But Loose movies are my least favorite, but I still watch them when they come on. Oh, and Heartbreak Ridge, another favorite of mine.

I believe that there is not much diffidence between Eastwood's western roles and his role of Dirty Harry. Although, he was more of a good guy as Dirty Harry. All of his other law enforcement roles, especially In the Line of Fire and Bloodwork, seem to be based off of his role as Dirty Harry.

One big difference though is that Eastwood's western movies got progressively better, with the exception of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. That is one of best films ever made. On the other hand, his Dirty Harry movies started off with a masterpiece and got progressively worse. His two major military films, Heartbreak Ridge and Kelly's Heros, are also great.
