Close and lock your doors.

Not true. Entry into a dwelling or any building (movable or immovable), vehicle, watercraft, or aircraft with the intent to commit theft or any felony therein is burglary in New Mexico. See Section 30-16-3, NMSA 1978 Compl.
It was a joke, you know, humor? Come guys give it a rest.

I live in a nice small city of roughly 60,000. We have an excellent Police dept and crime rates here are very low. Our Police seem to take crime quite personal and the clearance rate is very high. The bad guys have learned don't mess up here, the cops will find you.
I feel perfectly safe here.
However, when I'm not at home, the doors are locked.
When I am at home, the doors are locked.
When parked my vehicles doors are locked.
When I'm in them, the vehicle doors are locked.
Just makes common sense to me. Why take chances? ;)

How many of you that had cars broken into outside your property had a garage full of junk rather than parked cars.
