Hello I'm new to the forum. I was wondering who can repair or restore coke bottle grips? I have a couple pairs that have been sanded down and wonder if they can be fixed. Thanks for the help.

If they have been sanded down smooth, don't expect any miracles. There are several grip restorers who can work near-miracles, but probably not on a pair like that. They might come out looking good, but not looking like the originals. I'll PM you one you might try.

I suggest posting some pictures of them. There's some folks here that can do wonders but more information on their condition is needed.

I bought a set on eBay just tonight. She I get them I will post them up. The one pair with my 29-2 are way bad filed finger grooves. Thanks for the help.

If it's this set:

I'm thinking that the work involved in fixing them would take longer then just making a new set from scratch.

DWFan can do amazing things, but I fear that set is beyond hope.

Yes sixgunstrumpet that is the set. They are better than the set I have for it. Thanks for the help guys I appreciate it.

Maybe I messed up buying them I want a good set. Is there anywhere to buy a good set? You live and learn its only money I'm young enough I can make more. I'm 30 and have been bitten by the smith bug.

Good sets come up fairly regularly on E-Bay,Expect to pay north of $400 for a half way decent set.Cokes are not really rare,Just sought after.

Ok, I'm fascinated by this statement.

You have another set of cokes that are somehow more messed up then those? I would love to see some pictures.

In any case, I think this set you got from ebay are just what they are, I'm guessing a lefty did that to them based on the grooves on the right side for the thumb. They may actually be pretty comfy after all that molestation. I can see them going well on the right gun, and being A-OK for shooting.

I personally kind of like them.

Sweet Jesus. The only thing I can say is NO. Could I do them? Yes, but only if they were numbered to the gun which gives Provence. I have done and can do such restorations.

There have been many others. This set I'm afraid are a learning lesson. Be patient and find a decent set that are either okay as they are or can be refinished to like new.

Regards, DW
