Combat Magnum snubs, still using one?

How many here are? Model 19 or 66?

What are you stuffing them with?

I'm still using a 2.5" 66-2 off duty, loaded with Winchester Ranger 110 grain +P+. The old Treasury load.

Love my 66 snubbie. Regards 18DAI.

Used my 2 1/2" 66-2 for the revolver portion of my instructor re-qual last fall. Occasionally carry it in a Bianchi 9R. It stays stuffed with Speer 158gr. Gold Dot .357s.

I still enjoy using my 2.5" nickle 19-3. I use 145 grain WW Silvertips in it. I carried it concealed for a few years in a Bianchi Pistol Pocket.

19-3 and 66-2, both 2-1/2". I have never carried the 19-3 as it's almost perfect, and I rarely carry the 66-2. (My 65-5 is usually my go-to .357K-frame)

However, most of the .357 loads for the Ks are Mag Tech, Federal, and the like, in 158 SJSP or SJHP loads. All my Ks seem to like them.

Model 19-4 2.5" in a Galco Speedmaster, a HKS Model 10A and a 6 round cartridge slide, with W-W 145 Silvertips

I have an M19 snub, and an M66 snub. I bought the M19 because I thought I'd never find an M66. Not long afterward an M66 showed up in an ad in Shotgun News.
So now I have a pair of K frame .357 snubs.

I shoot a lot of .38 Special reloads made with 158 grain LSWCs in each gun. Other loads I've used include the Black Hills 125 grain JHP and a 140 grain JHP load, I think by Cor-Bon. The M19 really seems to like the Black Hills round. The M66 seems more partial to the 140 grain JHP.

19-4 in a Bianchi #5 Black Widow w/ Federal C357B 125gr Hi-Shok.

I don't have to worry about the finish on this one.:)

I was using my mdl. 19, 2.5" until about 3 weeks ago when I got an LCR. The 19 is more accurate, but then again I've been shooting it for over 20 years. The LCR sure packs easier.

I occasionally carry this 66-1. My usual ammo is the Speer .38 Special 135gr. +P Gold Dot, but sometimes I use the Short-Barrel 135gr. Magnum load. I use one of Lobo Gunleather's pancake holsters, and a Dade Speedloader is carried in my front pocket. It's one of my favorite guns;

When in the woods, a 3" M 65 with BB Heavy 357 Magnum Ammo - 180 gr. L.F.N. -G.C. (1,400fps/M.E. 783 ft. lbs.) - 20 Round Box. If I have no need for something that heavy, I will go to my M 60 loaded with BB 38 Spl. 158Gr. LHP +P. (1040 fps out of a 2" bbl). Those work for me.

You bet I do.

I carry my 66-1 2.5" with Gold Dot 357s in one of my The Slide OWB holsters. I carry it 30% of the time and most weekends when I'm up north.

Here is a pic of one of my original prototypes of The Slide I still use from 4 years ago.

Here is what it wears for grips now days.

My 2.5 inch 66 currently serves as our house gun, loaded with +P Gold Dots. Or rather I should say my wifes 66, as she's quite fond of it.

Looks like a beautiful gun. Looks to have been appreciated over the years!

Currently carrying a 2.5 bbl, 66-5 stuffed with Hornady 140 gr FTX. But, I just recently bought it so I'm experimenting with different loads.

Nice 65. What finish is that you used on the stainless? What Tridium front sight did you use.

The finish is a gray duracoat on the frame, everything else is polished and clear coated. The front sight is a tritium shotgun bead. I run 158 grain hydra shocks in it

Great thread. I don't currently have a K frame, but I've got my eye on a 2.5" 66-2 that I hope to scoop up one day soon. Think it's just the thing to fill the gap between my J frames and my 4" L frames.

Nice looking holster Srigs.

I've used that 180 gr load on deer with a 7.5" Redhawk. Bet that 65's a handful squeezing those off.

Not any longer. I had a 2 1/2" 66-2 years back but found for my use that it was too large for the type of concealed carry I prefer. For woods use, etc., with a gun belt I could just as easily go with a longer barrel.

I had the RB factory stocks on it and added a T-grip...the recoil with full loads was pretty robust in the web of the hand.

Sort of an in-between size for me, carry-wise, so moved on.

2.5" K-frame Combat Magnums = amazing accuracy

Oh yeah, still carrying and using them. The 19-2 I usually just carry in cooler weather and not in the humid sweaty season. The 66-no dash I carry during sweaty times and other times as well.

I shoot/carry handloads with 158 grain Hornady XTP's over a healthy dose of 2400.

That 66 with the T-grip and smooth stocks gets me every time. Beautiful gun.

Thanks! Its one of my favorites as well. Its a NC SBI surplussed gun. It went back to S&W several years ago to be fitted with a smooth-wide trigger and a few internal parts.

I carry my 2.5 inch 66-1 fall, winter and spring, and my 638 during the summer months. Either +p's or 158 grain .357 for the 66-1.

You betcha.

It's my outta town and winter gun loaded with 158 JSPs presently housed in a rig I just got from "Su Amigo Dave"
