Concealed Carrier Robbed of Weapon

Kentuckians are RAIDERS fans? I'm callin' BS on that one.

Take a joke cow.

And yes, we ALL wear suits and ties where I live. At our funeral anyways.

In serious reply to your question: the fact is, our victim took your attitude. What happened to him?
What are you talking about. Youre saying you wouldnt go into the same bathroom with that guy?

Learn from the mistakes of others?

KTVL CBS Channel 10 :: Medford - News - Top Stories - Police: Concealed handgun holder assaulted, robbed of handgun

A guy that looks like that, follows you into the mens room and you let him get behind you? Hey, he's wearing a RAIDERS shirt. C'mon, wise up.....

So, he was caught loitering "around Jackson County Jail".
At least they didn't have to haul him far, to toss his arse in the slammer.:)
He was "heavily under the influence of drugs".
Hmm. Not really surprised.

I think a few well placed heels to the shin and instep, and elbows to the face would have helped prevent the disarmament of the victim in this case.

A BU gun also makes a lot of sense, too.
Hell, why do people think cops carry a BU? Because of cases like this.
A Kel-Tec/Ruger/S&W BG .380 full of FMJs, dumped into the face of the violent attacker would have prevented his getting away with the lawful carrier's gun.

Gotta admit, pocket carry, or shoulder holster would have been harder to snatch than small of back carry.
Seems to me, a .38 snub in your front pocket is better than a .40 cal auto that you no longer have because it got snatched.

Carrying the biggest gun you can handle sounds like a great tactic.
However, bigger guns are harder to conceal and easier to snatch.
Perhaps, carrying the smallest gun that will effectively protect your life is a better tactic.
Yes, I feel better protected when carrying on of my 45s of 9s.
However, a lot of that is because Hollyweird has convinced us that anything less than a crew served weapon is equal to shooting the bad guy with spitballs.

No, I'm saying you would, and so did the man who was disarmed.
No ****. You cant control everything in life.
It sounds silly but it really happens. You're momentarily vulnerable and anything can happen in a public restroom, especially a dang Wal Mart.
Yes. And where is the reasonable line you draw where you dont see everyone as a suspect and not live your life in fear? Its unbelievable.

Being aware and being prepared to deal with life on lifes terms is neither living in fear nor being paranoid. Blithely walking into a trap, or allowing oneself to be trapped is often because of one form of fear. The fear of being thought of as paranoid, or the fear of being guilty of "profiling".
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Come on, someone answer my quiz questions!
What should he have done IF he had a BUG?

And leave off the silly bickering.

RW, I guess actually carrying a self defense weapon is a little paranoid, isn't it?;) and actually sizing people up, looking to see who's carrying, or who looks a bit like a druggie is just unfair to the rest of hooomanity, isn't it. I mean, didn't Jane Fonda say:
" we should all be like flowers, because, after all, who wants to bomb a flower?":o

So the guy was being stupid by taking a piss in a urinal with a normal looking guy. Yes he was extremely stupid. That is being paranoid when youre scared of everyone around you, which is what youre dictating.

Leave off the silly bickering? Look at your own remarks.

That guy was NORMAL? A RAIDERS SHIRT IS NORMAL!!?!
Paranoid? Dictating? What? Who? Do you answer everyones questions with a question? How many Raiders fans do you know who aren't crazy, and dangerous??! They're madmen! Every one of them!
Maybe YOU think Raiders fans aren't crazy and dangerous (and I mean every one...of...them:eek: ) but they are, they're bad.

You need to stop being so lighthearted, cow and start taking everything just a little more serious. Nobody. Nobody, jokes on THIS forum. So just cut it out. No more frivolity.

But I have never been kept out of a restroom when I needed it, I just paid attention to what was going on around me

Everyone should take note of this whole situation and place yourself in such a situation and figure out what (you) would do. I think this is a lesson learned and proceed with knowledge that stuff happens and don't get there to start with. SA is a good place to start and the rest is "how can I not get in this position". Do what ya gotta do.

Yea tex. Youre a real badass. You can see a sucker punch coming to the face before the bad guy even thinks anout doing it.
You must have exellent SA!

The same kind of genius who robs gun-carriers is the guy who "loiters around jails."
You can't make this stuff up.
