Concealed Carry Clothing

I just ordered a pair of the flannel lined "Ballroom Jeans" from DTC for two reasons......... the first and most important (as advertised) being that they allow "breath-ability and more comfortable movement, and the other is they are suppose to have nice over sized pockets which might be good for pocket totin'. We'll see.....

I never liked clothing that you must wear every day, such as a "photographers vest", a shirt-jac, a fanny pack, etc. Those items SCREAM OUT that you are carrying, plus I do not like having to wear the same stuff every day. Nothing worse than being uncomfortable when the weather heats up.

I got my order in from botach.com. They have a clearance sale going on certain Woolrich Elite Tactical clothing.

I ordered a Woolrich Barn Jacket, Close out priced at just under $30.

I just got my barn jacket yesterday in brown. I must say, it's a pretty nice jacket! Especially for $30 with free shipping!!!

I like the lining in the sleeves, the cut, and the fabric. I wish the pockets were positioned a little bit different to allow my pudgy arms to get to the bottom in a cross draw, but there are so many pockets I have to actually start wearing the coat to see which ones I'll use.

Thanks for the tip Bob, I love it!!!

Sip,
You're just funnin' them boys. We all know its your magnetic personality that allows you to stick your carry piece anywhere on your body. Some guys have all the luck.

Rule 303

I was reading somewhere that the 5-11 Concealed Carry shirts were on sale also direct from 5-11. I went to the site, and the 1700 Series Shirts were around $20 on sale with free shipping on orders over $100. I think I will see if a couple buddies who carry want to go together on an order for a couple shirts each. They look like a nice shirt also for $20.

Heads up! Duluth Trading has several versions of their Business Casual sportcoats on sale right now, plus a 20% discount and free shipping on orders of $100 +. I just ordered three sportcoats for $103! These are fire sale prices!

Concealed Carry Clothing Thoughts Opined

Dear Folks,

First, a wish to all for a Happy Chanukkah/Merry Christmas/Joyous Yule!

Second, I have pondered for a quite a while ... NRA Jackets, Field jackets in all the different patterns, Pilots' jackets ... all categorized under 'gun nut'/former GI/paramilitary wannabe.

Now, here is the next part of the recipe. Shirt tails hanging out, shirt jackets, all have been part of the 'grunge' look, brought to us from the Pacific NorthWest states, again, categorized.

What's wrong with the two categories? You, dear folks, have become 'made', by either a bystander, or (and it might be) the criminal you did 'stop'.

"Ok, buster, where are YOU in this, huh?"

Ok, here goes:
I am a Viet Vet, but because of all the "f" negative attention, and negative characterization, have never worn my 'colors'. I am one of those elder Dockers/Izod types of the 80's, who feel comfortable still wearing that style. I would feel comfortable with a simple long coat in winter. My 'tell' would probably be my enjoyment of fedoras.

The 'tacky' part, is that I now live in Central Louisiana, which has no real 'style', except for the wearing of hunting clothes, all during the OFF seasons! (I stopped hunting, when the hunter I came across was a "moving brush shooter"!) So, yes, I might be 'made', too!

I can't wear 'hip-located' slacks, because of an ostomy, so I have to wear 'grandpa-height' slacks, and the belt slants, already. I pocket carry, because even a Fobus would be too high and up back.

Just think, which do you want? Do you want to be memorable in clothing? Or, be able to melt into the crowd, these days?

YMMV!

I find sportcoats to be the ultimate answer to almost every day clothing. With a t-shirt, golf shirt, dress shirt- all shirts can be tucked in- and a pair of jeans. Tucking in the shirts, imho, makes it less the 'grunge look.'

I also settled on pocket carry, since it gives the most flexibility in what I wear. The only 'no-no' is jeans, but I find slacks and cargo pants more comfortable anyway. It also allows me to keep my shirttails tucked in, where they're supposed to be! :D
For what passes for cold weather here in Birmingham, AL, I had a pass-through slits made in my knee-length coat, so I can reach my trouser pockets without unbuttoning the coat.
