Can't get the IRS to send my tax refund. Keep getting excuses but no reasons. Been 4 months for a simple standard deduction tax filling
If you find yourself stuffing papers into an envelope and licking a stamp: STOP.
File electronically. Its 2022.
^^^ well….I am renewing our passports. No choice to go print everything out and send it in with our old passports, which will be returned to us even though they are expired. No option for online submission with a digital photo. Heck I am sure they can verify and cross reference all this with my current information they have on file for me between the passport office and the VA. Had to go to Walgreens for passport approved hard copy photos. Go figure….

that happened to me last year. Had to jump through a lot of hoops to prove that I was who I said. Then they said yes you are the right person so we will get your refund to you in three months or soFiled mine electronically. Got a nasty letter saying they couldn't verify my identity and made me send a sample of DNA (not really, but close enough to be disconcerting).
Now told that I'm verified, but it's going to be at least another 9 weeks before they even look at my return.
Useless bunch of dolts.
I sent my tax payment back when they were due and the check still hasn't been cashed... But I did send it USPS and I'm coming to the point of not trusting our postal service
