I posted some days ago looking for a hand for a 3rd Model 32 HE and was given a few places at which to check for availability. None replied and I assume they don't have any such part. I found a few more places on the internet after many hours of searching and they likewise had none.
While I continue to search, I am wondering if anyone has ever experienced fitting a similar hand from another S&W model to the I frame. I was thinking (hoping?) that another hand might be made to fit with a little stoning and honing altho I don't have 'much' hope.
I had intended to sell this revolver but am reluctant to sell it in incomplete condition since I would anticipate many arguments as to the cost of replacing the missing hand. (I can hear from $60 to $600
The gun does shoot well and locks up very nicely tho the cylinder has to be indexed manually after each shot.
Sorry to burden the forum with my problem but, as I said, I was thinking a part from a similarly sized revolver might be adapted to the I frame with a little judicious fitting.
