Converting 3913 to DAO

Will the factory do a DAO conversion on a 3913? If so, does anyone know the approximate cost?

For fifteen years I've been issued revolvers, Glocks, Beretta 96D's and now an M&P 40 so I am most comfortable with a DAO/striker fired firearm as opposed to the traditional DA/SA models.

I realy like my 3913 which my father gave me. I just don't have the $$ to buy a 3953 right now and refuse to sell the 3913 to do so. A conversion (that can be reversed later on) appears to be my best option at this time.

S&W used to list DA/SA conversion to DAO on their web site. I remember the price, years back when I considered such things, was around $100.00.

Give them a call! When we got to carry the striker fired I didn't look back (well, hardly).

it's not listed on their web page under gunsmithing services, but it was an offered service maybe 5 or 6 years ago. The 3913 is a very good pistol. I carried a 6906 for many, many years and toyed with idea of having it converted.
