I have been a Glock person for over 25 years. I own several Glocks and love them. Is there anything special about the S&W M&P line that could convince me to buy M&Ps primarily in 9mm and .45 ACP. Pretend you're a S&W salesperson and SELL me!

Gunfather , I don’t know what to do.

Smith & Wesson makes this gun the M&P 2.0 and I don’t know what to do.
Should I buy it? I mean I really love my Glock’s. I...I... just don’t know what to do.

I have a few Glocks and appreciate them for what they are, but not a huge fan of plastic guns and would never own any plastic offerings from S&W or any other manufacture. I am sure they all work, I just don't care for striker-fired handgun triggers, their aesthetics or feel.

The 2.0...in my opinion...has a better trigger out of the box, better ergos for my hands, and the option of a safety if you want one (I do.)

But like the other members said, "Try one first, then decide."

That said I only own three striker-fired pistols: 5" M&P 2.0 with apex trigger (sort of gilding the lily) and a Walther PPQ.

I typically carry either a Smith 4513TSW, CS9, or Beretta PX4 Compact. (With a S&W 1911SCe, Sig 245, Smith 642, or Beretta PX4 sc in reserve.)

It's not an either/or thing. You can own both. Don't worry, they won't infect each other in the gun safe. If you're curious about S&W, buy one and try it. Form your own opinion.

I will definitely keep both. I can't imagine being Glockless! Not going to happen. I'm thinking of picking up a M&P 2.0 9mm. The price is right on Buds. From what I can gather they have the strength and reliability of a Glock and they take down like a Sig. I like that.

You know, you're right, it's not either/or. I will own both. I can afford to not sell one gun to get another. It's not like there will be a battle in my safe between rival guns! LOL!

To me it would make no sense to switch to M&P's since already love Glocks. I much prefer Glocks, but it's just what feels comfortable to me.

I own a couple Glocks, an XDMc, a Shield and a few other pistols.
The only M&P I like is the Shield.

As many have mentioned already, don't make a decision based on what strangers on a forum write. See how they feel (to shoot) in YOUR hands. If you end up liking the the M&Ps better, THEN switch (or better yet... Add) an M&P to your group.

I can't write a reason to buy M&P's over Glocks ( never had one in my hand), especially when I am a revolver type guy. BUT, having said that I own 1 Glock 36 in 45 acp. Besides my Browning Hi Power it is the only semi auto I own, that i have complete confidence in. Never a fail to feed, or a stove pipe like Colts are known for. It just works

Keep your Glocks, buy M&P's, everybody wins . . .

Man (or Woman) should choose their own gun(s)!!!!

Advice is fine but only you can decide what is "right" for you!

Often wondered why my Dad carried the same 3 guns for the best part of his 39 years as a Police officer ..... Patrolman to Captain... 1938-77. A 6"Colt New Service .357 magnum worked over by Kings, a 1946 4" M&P he got when he got back from the South Pacific and a 1950s 2" Colt Detective Special. After retiring he had me get him a S&W 640 like mine. Those guns were all he needed and he was on the Dept Pistol Team for about 15 years.

I started buying guns in the mid-70s; got my concealed carry licence 42 years ago. After 'shopping around" for about 10 years I settled on a handful of carry guns....a S&W 3913 for every day carry since 1990; a "high cap" 9mm PC-shorty nine (94) and a 3" Model 66 (1988) for carrying in Penn's Woods. These three have served me well for over 30 years now.....

Got others from Sig, Beretta, CZ, Walther and S&W................even tried 3 or 4 Glocks back in the 90s. There are times I'll opt for a Beretta Compact/Centurion on Smith 915 when I want a few more rounds in a gun...

But; now I understand my Dad choices better; and for me I see no reason to change my everyday (98%) carry guns........ "newer" is just newer.... doesn't mean they're better......" for me" !!!!

25 years with Glocks.... should tell you something!

Good luck!
