While at the recent Symposium in Richardson, I was able to obtain correct target stocks for both my Model of 1955 5-screw (shipped in March, 1959) and my 4-screw Pre-18 (shipped in April, 1957). Thank you, Jim King. When I purchased these guns, they both had non-diamond relieved stocks on them, one version too new. The 1955 stocks are walnut, the pre-18 stocks are GA. Now I can sleep at night knowing that they both have the proper shoes. :D

Charlie, they do look nice. Thanks for the pics. I love helping put nice grips on deserving guns. Your scrap wood goes in the mail Monday. Sure enjoyed meeting you and a bunch of other folks. See you in Tulsa. Jim

Thanks Jim. It was a pleasure talking with you and getting to know you. I am anxious to get the scrap wood and try to see if I can make it look better. It will be a challenge, but what else do I have to do? ;)

The checkering pattern of the K targets suggests 1963-1967 production but those S&W diamond target stocks are sure pretty..

Would love to attend another S&W symposium, haven't been since 2011.
