Couldn't find the 45 colt revolver I wanted so....

I had a local gunsmith convert a 629 for me. I found a mountain gun barrel and had him re-chamber the cylinder. I now have sort of a square butt mountain gun in 45 colt with correct throats. It shoots great.

If I may, how much did your gunsmith charge.

I talked to my "guy" about a similar conversion and I don't think he was interested in doing it. He quoted me an outrageous price.

Beautiful gun! That's the only sure fire way to get a .45 that will shoot. I had Andy Horvath do mine and like you I couldn't be happier. Time for a range report.

I got a 8 3/8" 629-1 cheap and made it into a 45acp/colt. Hard part was finding a barrel.

All said and done including checking every function of it, fixing the endshake and repairing the slight pushoff was $400
