With the trigger/action "at rest", I pull the trigger, a bit of takeup, and I get a little click. Almost like a couple ounce trigger pull. Shouldn't I have a bit of takeup, then just come to a stop? This is with a magazine in. I had a 41 in the past and don't recall that little click. Is it normal?
Dry-firing - It seems as if the slide has to be completely closed in order to dry-fire. Even my thin Hammerli dry-fire plugs/strips won't let it do so (they keep the slide open just a bit. I've heard of folks using spent cases, but they're a PITA to get in, and obviously get ejected every time you cycle it. Any options? A fellow league shooter has dry-fired his FOR-EVER (with nothing in the chamber)with no ill effects. I still can't bring myself to do it regularly. What do folks that dry-fire frequently do?

Fired cases work fine if you grind or snip off part of the rim so the extractor can't engage it. When you're finished dry-firing, push the case out with a cleaning rod.
