Finally got a chance to sit down with my fiance and watch "Courageous" this evening. Excellent movie with a fantastic message. Despite initial appearances, its much more than a "cop movie". Its an overtly Christian movie about being the type of man and father we should strive to be. Its a very nice change from the typical trash we see in the media today.

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

Watching Javi in the back seat of the cruiser was priceless. Overall I thought it was ok, it was a little cheesy but certainly portrayed a good message.

I thought it was great movie. Me, my wife and 16 year old daughter went to the LE screening. I think all the females cried and a healthy portion of the males. Not me of course.

Glad to see others enjoyed it!

ckprax, yes, I agree, slightly cheezy from time to time, but overall a great movie. I found myself wishing throughout the movie I could work for a department with guys like that.

Wife and I went to see it at the Theater, excellent movie. "Fireproof" and "Facing the Giants" are also a couple great movies that these guys have made.

One of, if not my FAVORITE movie of all time.

My 27 year old son, who once didn't trust police, was very moved by this movie and told ME that I needed to see it. My son is a new father and it impacted him in a powerful way in several ways.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It's one of the films done by Sherwood Pictures which is actually a ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church (in Alabama or Georgia... I forget which). They've done Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. Facing the Giants is my personal favorite, but I have yet to see Courageous.

The films can definitely be cheesy at times, but it's about the message, not the production, special effects, cast etc.

Pretty sure it's Georgia. I'd like to buy all of their movies to have on hand so I can watch them when ever I want.
On a side note, Tyler Perry makes some pretty good movies too, mostly with an underlying Christian themes to them.
I'm not to macho to admit that I cry at movies, especially Sherwood Pictures and Tyler Perry Movies. :o

I too, enjoyed "Courageous". What a message for fathers and grandfathers. By applying the principles and values outlined in the movie we could pull this country back from the slippery slope we seem to be treading. It's easy to turn away from your principles and values if you don't have any...

We just rented "Courageous" last night from Red Box. Considering that it is a low budget movie with no star actors, we thought it was very good. The message is a powerful one and targets a big problem in our society. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

All 4 of the Sherwood films are Great imo. They are all from a Church in Albany Ga. Hope they continue making movies.
