In Jan of this year I purchased a SW M&P FS 9mm for recreational use, and became a first-time gun owner. The weapon has functioned flawlessly with over 1k rounds through it, is accurate, shoots any ammo I feed it, and is fun as hell to shoot.
However...I am stuck in some kind of "Groundhog Day" customer service fail loop and I don't know whether to laugh or yell. When I bought the pistol it came with two mags, one of which was a .40 cal. Not a big deal, easy to fix right? I sent SW an email asking for guidance on the best way to swap out the .40 mag for a California compliant full size 10 round mag. A few days later I got a nice reply with mailing instructions, etc. .40 cal mag goes in a padded envelope and off to SW. About ten days later I get a package from SW with a CA compliant 10 round 9mm mag in it...only once I get it to the range I discover it must be for a M&P compact because it is too short to properly feed/load the ammo. Grrrrrrr, but not the end of the world.
So I call SW and explain my situation. The people I speak with are all very nice; "So sorry sir, we are sending out another mag today. Yes it is full size 10 round, I am looking at it now. Please return the short mag." OK, will do - all good.
So yesterday I get home from a business trip and there is a package from SW. Yes, yes, yes, my new full-sized 10 round mag must be here! Maybe I can go shooting with a buddy this weekend woot! Whoa there big fella...not so fast. SW has, for the third time now, provided me with the wrong mag. Thats right, they sent me *another* short 10 round 9mm mag. Arrrrrrgh!!! Of the four magazines I have gotten through SW (2 original purchase & 2 replacement) 3 of them are have been the wrong size, wrong caliber or both. It was a true facepalm moment. I don't know whether to laugh or yell.
I understand how good honest hard-working folks can make mistakes, but three fails on the same issue...really? And I can't help but wonder if that is how they roll what other issues will I encounter with my pistol.
