Have recently been on the search for another CS45 (have a blued model, would like a stainless also), thought someday down the road I'd be able to also pickup a CS40 if the price was right. Saturday was in the local Cabela's and though I'm there frequently and they have a good selection of pre-owned guns, I've never come across a CS in any caliber there. Sitting in the case was what appeared to be a "new" stainless CS40. On close inspection, it appeared to have been fired very little and not carried at all. Suspect it was somebody's safe queen or nightstand gun. Almost crapped my pants when I looked at the price--------$450!!!!!!!! Feeling lucky, I asked if they could help me out any on the price. Managed to get it for $425, saving enough for a box of ammo. The only downside was no case and no extra mag but I can live with that. Bought it on the spot. They had apparently only had it in the case for a day or two. Felt so lucky, I stopped and bought a Lotto ticket on the way home. Unfortunately, it didn't have the winning numbers but I felt like I had already won. Will post pics down the road.

Called S&W today, serial number indicates it was mfg in 99. Still can't get over the condition it is in for being 10 yrs old. Am anxious now to get to the range to see how it performs and handles. Unfortunately, am getting ready to leave town for a week so that will have to wait.Any CS45 owners out there who also own a CS40 able to offer opinions on recoil, controlability, accuracy, etc of the CS40 compared to the CS45? I love my CS45, will never part with it and wonder if I'll feel the same about the CS40?

Congrats I have a CS-9 and two CS-40's and I like them all. I find the CS-9 to be really accurate, however one of the 40's seems to be a little better than the other. The CS-40 has a fairly stout recoil and I am very happy with all of them.
