I have a new to me CS9 that had a very loose slide release. I have 2 other S&W 3rd gen pistols.
It was so loose that it fell out at some point & was lost. I could remove the slide release without moving the slide back.
Fortunately I have a 3913 that it looks like I can use the slide release from. I can't remove this slide release unless I move the slide back.
I am hesitant to use it until a replacement comes in as I would be out 2 guns if this fails.
It looks like the CS9S slide release assembly part no 209840000 at MidwayUSA should be the replacement (via the diagrams at Brownells) so I put it on order.
The recoil spring guide assembly looked like some plastic had been shaved off the tip so I ordered a replacement for that just in case.
I have a couple of questions. Did I order the right part for the slide stop assembly?
Is there anything I should check for on the pistol?
I didn't get many hits on loose slide searches so I am thinking this was a rare occurrence.
