He made made them for me of fiddleback maple wood, from trees planted 60+ years ago in our back yard by my Mom, and my Wife. The emblems are unusual, as they are recessed into the grips, and filled in level with the surface with clear acrylic material.

Another Set

I found these to go along with the set listed in Post# 10.

Again, these are Amboyna and Green Pearl. The difference is at the base. These are made for a 1911 without a mag funnel. I think they look great on my Kimber Rimfire Target.

Here are both sets together. Les Baer Premier II .45 on top and Kimber Rimfire Target .22 LR on the bottom.

I'd like to compliment you on your choice of grips, made from combined Ambrosia burl wood, and Green Pearl. I've never seen that combination. As my favorite color is green, that cleaver combination really flops my mop. Those grips look just beautiful on the many styles, and finishes of 1911s that you show them on. I'll probably never find a set of grips like them. I shouldn't be looking fore something else firearm related to collect, since i'm starting on my 89th year, but, those grips look extra special nice to me, and I can't help but wish.

Roper grips

Sixgun Strumpet;
The Exquisite Roper grips that you picture in your post #21, bring tears to my eyes. They show what I would consider a perfect example of, top of the line custom grips used in the era of bullseye competition that I competed in. They are just beautiful in their well used, good condition, and are a part of history. Give them a coat of Renaissance wax, consider yourself very fortunate, and never part with them. Thanks for sharing them with us.

One additional thing that is somewhat amusing to me about them is that they appear to have been chewed on by either a toddler, or a pet. Not sure which.

Overall though they do make me a bit sad that I wasn't around when I could order such a set new for myself. It's wonderful to be able to dig up the old ones, but I can't help but feel I missed out on some pretty special times.

You might check from time to time to see what he has available.

By the way, green is my favorite color as well!
