Caje, I also wondered about a mod 27 barrel. I compared it with a 27-2 I have and they are not stamped the same. Does a 520 have a dove tail front sight as this one has?

It is a 3.5" 27 barrel with the ramp milled off and the fs set in a milled dovetail groove. The 520 did not have a dovetailed front sight.

Still way high on the cool meter.

The work looks good, and while a 520 was sacrificed, it makes a great carry gun now...good find, and even better you got a deal $$ wise on it...

VERY nice carry gun there Charlie.

I'd have paid for it too, and maybe the asking price if seller hadn't bargained down. Obviously the metalworker in this case knew what they were doing and I'm most impressed with the preservation of rollmarks.

Wonder what the dovetail cutout measurments are? Wondering if you could drop in a Novak/TruDot/Whoever tritium dot a la 1911 dovetailed front and have a day/night blaster there.

Nice find, regardless of "collector" value. I'd say the "accumulator" factor in itself is enough.

that's sweet!!! I'd have gotten it myself, if it was at my lgs...(if I could have gotten it for a price I could live with)...

Thanks for the additional pics Charlie - looks great and you done good. Agree with others on the 27 barrel. Don't forget to check the grip frame size (K or N).
It was good seeing you and Jr. today - thanks for the visit.

That looks like a real bulldog. Back when I was questioning why someone would cut the barrel only a half inch, the thought did cross my mind that it may be 3-1/2 barrel off an M27.

Thanks for the update and all the pictures.

Nice looking piece and I was thinking it was a 27 barrel also. Let us know how it shoots. Joe
