I took a family trip over to my parent's house over the weekend, brought a few of my guns along to just have a little bit of fun in the backyard and teach my girlfriend of very limited shooting experience a thing or two. Before we went out, my father dug back into his gun cabinet and pulled out a gun for me that apparently he's had my whole life but I swear I've never seen. So now I'm the owner of my first Daisy since the Red Rider I had when I was, like, 5. A Daisy 2203 semi-auto, 7 round mag. Pretty sure what all would be blued steel on any other gun is plastic on this one. Pretty conviencing tho. Took me a few minutes to even notice. Everything that is metal tho is in surprisingly excellent shape for it not seeing the light of day (or oil) in at least the 26 years I've been around. Decent wood furniture. After a seriously detailed cleaning, I can vouch that it shoots and cycles fine, the mag falls out about 50% of the time after cycling the next round but I'm working on that. Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with these, good or bad? A quick Google search has left me under the impression that they're fairly rare.

Yeah, that's actually about all the information I can find on these. The sear can break or malfunction and start doing 2-round bursts.

I have a few of the 2202 bolt action, 10 shot rotary mag. Daisy rifles. A lot of fun to shoot.
The 2203 semi auto was recalled due to going full auto from what I've read. Probably the sear that you mentioned. You can try the Daisy web site and see if they have repair records. I'm not sure if they do. If not maybe a gunsmith would able to tell if aware of the problem.
