I am very pleased to have such a consistent pattern in response. I tried match in box numbers with manufacturers but that didn't work the way I wanted it to thanks to every one for the info. Good to know I don't have to worry on this matter!
Perhaps some prevarication is prevalent.
,My friend from a past (military) life works at a WalMart. They sell what they get to sell. Some of the stuff is foreign (CPI as opposed to SAMMI standards), and you have to decide to buy or not. Since all of my firearms are in warranty to some degree, I shoot SAMMI US production ammo. I do shoot some reloads in my .357.
What WalMart sells is valid. You have to decide about US / Foreign manufacture. There are WalMart packages (Federal does a series of boxes for them), but I've never had issues with them.
I did have issues with TulAmmo BrassMaxx made in Bosnia, sold at WalMart. But I knew I was buying "at risk". The same package was sold online by others, so I won't blame Wally World. You can't blame them for finding a supplier.
So my local gun Smith from whom I bought my sd40ve has put this fear of firing walmart ammo through my pistol based on him telling me that they have had to send several pistols back to the manufacturer with bulged- deformed barrels...
