Any help on dating my late grandfather’s 34-1 would be amazing. It’s a 4” nickel round butt SN# M193908. From what I’ve been able to research, this seems to be a somewhat rare variation of this gun. Does anyone know this to be accurate?

I also have a 12-2 2” blued airweight in a blue box serial number D793919. I don’t know much about the airweight’s as they aren’t my usual cup of tea so I don’t know if it’s post 1961 or pre-61 and belonging in the pre-61 thread. Does anyone know if the attached photo of the box I have for it is the period correct box? There is no visible wax marker and the sticker is faded beyond recognition.

Thank you so much in advance for any information you may have!

The 34-1 dates to 1981. The only feature that is somewhat uncommon is the Nickel plating, otherwise is is very representative Kit Gun.

The 12-2 dates to 1974-75, most likely 1975. The box is correct for this time period. Marking the box with grease pencil ended years before this date.

Thank you so much for the info, I’ll probably list a few more that I need some information on as well in the coming weeks.

Thanks for the help with the 12-2 and the 34-1! Maybe you can help me with two others from my collection?

First off, a 4” stainless model 66 (no dash) in original box. It has the stainless rear sight, which someone told me makes it an early model. SN# 4K9033. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Secondly, a 19-4, 6”, sporting target grips, trigger, and hammer. I think it’s in a period correct box (correct me if wrong) but it doesn’t have a sticker to show it’s the original. The blue box does say, “357 Combat Magnum Blue Finish Model 19 on it. SN#44K5084. Again, any info would be greatly helpful to me!

Thanks in advance!

4” stainless model 66 (no dash) in original box. SN# 4K9033.
1973. The 4K numbers from that year ran from 4K1628 to 4K54104.

19-4, 6”, sporting target grips, trigger, and hammer. SN#44K5084
1978. The dash 4 came out in 1977, and was replaced by the dash 5 in 1982.
I think it’s in a period correct box (correct me if wrong)
It is period correct - a Bangor Punta box.
