Took my daughter (9) shooting for the first time at the range - happened to be scheduled for the day of Sandy Hook. Was a local indoor range and she and a classmate (another girl) took a lesson from an instructor and then shot a ruger 22. The support they got from everyone at the range was very cool. Of course, 2 girls decked out all in pink are going to get some attention!
I was impressed with how my daughter did. By the end of the hour I was with her and she'd call her shots. "Hey dad, shoulder!" and hit it. If she missed, she adjusted quickly. She put 30 of 35 shots into a torso sized target at 15-20 feet.
we're looking forward to taking the M&P15-22 out once we score some ammo which should be this week.
