My little girl was on spring break last week (8th grader) and so I took the day off to take her to the range for the first time. I have educated her on the proper handling of firearms since an early age but now was the time to shoot.

Took the Model 41 (early 80's version) and had the range to ourselves. First shot she was tentative but after that she was a champ. Quite a few bulls-eyes. Left with a "I want to do that again!). Must say that gun is the perfect 1st time shooter gun. A great day.

Bravo! Great to see kids getting involved. They will be running the country some day, so let's get them started right.

My youngest daughter and I always enjoy the few times a year she can get time to go to the range. She is thirty and a food and beverage manager for a large hotel chain. She is partial to the Beretta 92s. Of course she is a better shot than I am, but I just enjoy hanging out with her. This is the good stuff about being a parent.

I plan on taking my daughter out this summer as well. my stepdaughter has a ruger sr22 and I have all 9's. we'll see if we can work our way up

Always good to hear about dad's taking their children out to teach them how to shoot. Especially their daughters! I taught all three of my daughters and one son how to shoot at an early age with co2 pellet pistols in the backyard. When they got older I took them to the range with me to learn how to shoot the .22 revolvers & then the 38. That was quite awhile ago now as they are all grown with their own families but I still love it when any one of them stops by for a visit and say "hey, lets go to the range dad"

I look forward to bringing my kids to the range. I figure I have 2 years at least. I know some people do it at 7 or earlier, but I'm not comfortable until my son is 10.

I always enjoy seeing pics of Dads teaching their Children how to shoot correctly and safely. I would rather they learned properly and never had to use it then NOT learn it and NEED the knowledge. I taught all 3 of my children how to handle a gun and shoot as well when they reached the age of 12. They were mature enough to understand just how serous this was. To me that is the most important factor in teaching them the art of shooting. . Too many accidents happen every year as it is and we don't Need anymore added to it.
