About the last one: Global warming is an indisputable FACT. For every credible person you can present who claims otherwise, there are 1000 credible persons who will say they are wrong. What is up for speculation is it's cause. Could it be natural? I don't know. Could it be man made? I don't know. Could it be cow farts? I don't know. What I do know however, is it is happening.

It always has and always will and we will never know which way it's going to go.

As for "science," that generally goes to the highest bidder.

I'm very glad you put science in quotes, because it's obvious to me as somebody who has spent their entire working life in science and engineering that what you describe is nothing I would recognize as science. I've reported some unpopular things during my career, and I still got paid, and usually got asked back to do more work. Integrity matters.

This includes the time I pointed out to somebody just hours before a very expensive experiment, "Thanks for that data I got yesterday. Shame I didn't get it in time for you to cancel today's activities. Has no one pointed out how broken your primary piece of equipment is?" Apparently not, and after a near year of prep work. Incompetence of others or them wanting to tell the boss what he wanted to hear? That's unimportant now and not in my wheelhouse, but I can say I was asked back again to bring a more rigorous approach to analysis of what we were trying to do.
