Model 60 was first sold in 1965 or thereabouts, and I don't recall seeing a 3 incher until well after the Vietnam war was over.

Considering that a model 10 HB is about the same size as a 1911, I don't see it as a hideout gun.

Everything that was blue finish in the jungle was a PIA to keep from rusting. The Air Force M15 was a blue .38spl, and the issued 130gr ammo was ridiculous. "Unofficial" commercial ammo somehow made its way to Vietnam bases, althoug SM-ALC supply officers will swear it never happened.

However, considering the overall BS level of much of the writing about Vietnam, you can claim most any gun that was made at the time and fit right in....

Greetings from western Pa. Enjoy the forum.

Welcome from Texas mg357. Great forum, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

Nickled 36 or 37 would also fit, as would 2 1/2" nickled model 19.

if there are military veterans who come to this forum and they can help me i would certainly appreciate there opinions as well
