Going to buy a new revolver


model#150713 vs Model#170853


which is the best ?....like to target practice a lot.

Looks like SKU numbers which would be the "Distinguished Combat" 686 Plus Deluxe with 3" barrel v. the 1911 E series?
 
That is tough - the 3 inch is a bit short for my taste to target shoot with, but the 686 is a great revolver. The 1911 is a great target gun as well, but I prefer revolvers, so 686 it is ! Personally, I would find an early 80's 4 or 6 inch, but that's just me.
 
since a 1911 isn't a revolver.....I see no choice, since the OP stated he was going to buy a revolver.
 
Could be a typo and he meant #150853 instead of #170853. Then it's Model 686 Plus Deluxe 3" vs Model 686 Plus 3-5-7 3". Same gun except grips and cylinder?
 
"Both" is still a great answer. You can't have too many nice revolvers and those qualify for nice IMHO.
 
If this is for target shooting, why not a six-inch barrel?

Sounds as if your'e shopping concealed carry guns.
