I’m almost ready to buy a s&w m29/6 1/2” in nickel. Now do I want a new 29-10 or a used m29 no loc/ no mim?

Used 29-2, if my vote counts.
I agree with "deyomatic", 29-2.

They don't make them new in nickel any more, so whatever you get will be older anyways. So go with a P&R gun then. My nickel 29-2 is just beautiful. 
Why anyone would prefer a -10 to a -2 is completely beyond me. But then, I'm old and weird, so why should my opinion count?

I'm inclined to agree with the others but if you're buying it to shoot the heck out of it maybe new with warranty.
29-2 IMHO.....

That is a very good point and one I have addressed. I also have a 29-6 Classic with 5" barrel that is for shooting hotter loads and shooting the heck out of. I do shoot the 29-2 but not too often.

I would prefer a 29-2 in good condition.
Whatever your choice I think you love them to be used, not mistreated, firing with the right ammunition and good maintenance we will enjoy them for a long time.

These are the kind of problems that make me glad to be an American. Older one would be my choice today but if I were younger and looking to shoot it many years I wouldn’t hesitate on a new one .If money wasn’t an issue maybe even both .
