I know...not a revolver... but I'm pretty sure Altamont made these:

And now, I just wish Altamont would make something along these lines :D

I just picked up a 15-2, 10-6, and another Model 36, and they'll get Altamonts also.

Let's see yours!

Very nice. I already posted two of the grips in a thread I recently made, but here is what my 627 PC is currently wearing.

I have silverblack wood as well, but I posted them for sale since I chose to stick with this one.

How do you like the bonded ivory ones? I was really contemplating a set of those, but when I asked an Altamont rep which one was more durable, they told me the wood ones are actually more durable than bonded ivory. Thats not to say either is fragile in any way.

They look great - the ones on the M10-8 are different - they a little thicker (meaning for a larger hand) than the standard grips?

Pete

Thanks all!

@Gorenut...I just put the bonded ivory stocks on last month...they're holding up well so far! And I saw your thread...inspired me to make this one actually. That 627PC looks awesome! I really like the look of their Rosewood Stocks. I have a set on the way for the Model 15-2 that I just scored for $275 bucks (I still can't believe the deal I got on this gun; its a former Suffolk County, NY Police Department gun that is in phenomenal shape)

@Pete99004... they are oversized...probably better suited to a .357, but very, very comfortable shooting .38sp

I put Altamont "service" magnas on my 10-14, and I also plan to put the RB to SB conversion "targets" on my other 10-14.

My 64-7 will also get a set of the newer "magna" style grips in rosewood. I like the fact that Altamont is the OEM grip maker for S&W now and can use the medallions.

I do too...the ability to order them with medallions is why I prefer them to other stocks...and it seems now that they're offering a lot more styles than just a couple of months ago.

Your RB Model 10 looks good in those service stocks!

I have two more sets on the way, one for a former NYPD Model 10 and another for a Model 36... I'll post up pics when they get here.

Altamont offers a low cost solution for gun with beat up or ugly grips. I like that they offer "plain vanilla" service type grips too, for those of us with holster buffed 64's, 10's, 66's, etc. that need a nice set of magna's without having to spend $70 for a nice set on fleabay.

Former NYPD Model 10 with Walnut Checkered Panels... (when I bought it, it had a stainless DAO bobbed hammer. Apparently, its owner, a retired NYPD captain, had the hammer replaced in the eighties... I switched it for a target hammer that I had lying around):

Model 36 with Rosewood "Crockback" Combats:

I have purchased a couple pairs of their magna style stocks.
First set had nice sharp checkering.
Next one the checkering was very shallow, more like scratch lines.
As they were both the N-Frame style, I would have expected the CNC machining to be identical.
This is the "good" set. I sold the other ones.

And here's my latest addition, a former NYC Department of Corrections Model 64 with a three inch barrel, sporting round butt oversize combats with finger grooves in Super Rosewood:

Pretty nice grips and pictures. I like those combats.

I just bought a 3" 66 and it had those grips just like your 36 Classic. I actually was not familiar those grips but I did see them on the S&W website.

Nice guns and grips all. 2 questions: One of the model 10s has a hammer bob; are you shooting IDPA with the gun? Question#2, what style or name does Altamont use for the grips on the Model 10-8. I'm assuming it is a square butt gun. I need a set like that for a Model 67 I own. Thanks!

Thanks!

@bronco45:

Question#1: I got it with that bobbed hammer; I don't shoot IDPA with it, and I can't tell with any certainty whether or not the previous owner did or not. The hammer isn't just bobbed; the single action ledge is also not there...The gun probably didn't come from the factory with that hammer and trigger, but whoever bobbed the hammer did a nice clean job.

Question #2: Those are "Smith & Wesson K Square FingerGrooves Oversize Cut", available in Super Rosewood, Silver Black, Super Walnut (pictured above) and Bonded Ivory from their website.
